Funny story about My Chemical Romance. My friend Iggy runs and owns the oldest punk rock store on the East coast called Two Tone. Almost cpmpletely sure the only still running shop since the 70's. He told me that either people from thier label or the band came to ask him to talk about My Chemical Romance and how they helped underground punkrock leaps and bounds in New Jersey for a documentary on the band. Iggys reply "who?". hahaha

hahaha that is HILARIOUS. i swear everyone in that band is like 19, they werent even around when punk started! any band now that comes out and screeches in my ear about their childhood is NOT keeping my attention for any longer than it takes to set their album on fire.

Well the sad thing is that they are around my age. Quite a few of my friends say they still know Gerard. Never really painted him as the underground enthusiast. More like one of those people that went to shows, hung around a bit, and would nod to the music a little, but never quite got the picture.

Yeah, unfortunatly I'm from the state that popped a majority of those bands out. All those bands are pretty much the same story as Gerard. Most of them are kids of rich yuppies that didn't fit in with the subculture. They basicaly blazed thier way into the music through thier parents money and connections. I'm sure you see plenty of that in Socal too.

yea, i never listen to the radio anymore cause its all about the newest singles of the bandofthemoment. i gravitate towards the older stuff cause thats where the quality is.
