Any writers?

Just wondering if anybody else is a fiction writer? I'm a Professional Writing major at the University of Oklahoma, myself. I'm going through ideas for my first novel right now, since I have to start writing it next month when the semester starts, and I'm working on selling a couple of my short stories.

Anybody else write? For fun or to fulfill any aspirations?

I write mostly poetry, but I do some fiction from time to time, as well as screenplays, been working on getting published for quite soem time

Have you ever picked up a copy of Writer's Market? It's full of publisher information.

yea I have that, I almost got published when I was 17, but the deal didn't go through, something about censorship, lol

Haha, yeah, I just got my first ever rejection letter, from Asimov's Science Fiction, last month. I've never really tried to get published before, but I'm being persistent with this story. I'm waiting on a reply from Analog Science Fiction & Fact right now.

Coming up with ideas for this novel is proving to be incredibly difficult. Right now I'm working on a lead I'd describe as The Island of Dr. Moreau meets Aliens during WWII.

I've been working on getting my poems published ever since I was 16, I just recently got back into screenplay writing, gonna work on that for a while , I got a lot of ideas running around in my head right now,

I just broke free from a 3 month writers block, I feel great now lol

Haha, yeah, I haven't written anything all summer, which is no good. I've got to write at least 3000 words a week for my class in the fall.

I write hours a day, its a good way to keep things fresh

i'm working on my first fiction piece, i also write a lot of waka poetry

I write poems or rants for the most part. I've been told by quite a few that my writing is quite good, but I'm modest and compliments make me wanna curl up like a potato bug.
