Default No love for Folk Punk?

I searched and couldn't find much but a Mischief Brew thread.

Anyone else into this pure, amazing, lovely music?

Defiance Ohio pretty much gets me through high school.

I think they are what Against Me! would be if they had never sold out.

I don't know. Defiance Ohio has so much more of a pure and acoustic sound. I love Against Me, but they really never seemed to much of a "folk" band to me.

Against Me has it's folky moments. "Pints of Guinness Make You Strong" is a good example.

I've got a couple Defiance, Ohio songs. I think "Bikes and Bridges" is an awesome song. I'm a big folk-punk and folk-rock fan, and not just the Celtic stuff. I do CD reviews for independentclauses.com, and they tend to send the folk-punk and rock to me. I'd definitely recommend A Fistful of Dynamite, The Atomic Atoms and The Knockdown, if you like Defiance, Ohio. I've also got a ton of Celtic-Punk bands I could recommend, if you're into that kinda thing.

Right now, though, I'm all about The Gaslight Anthem when it comes to folk-punk. They've got one album and an EP out now, and a new album coming out on SideOne Dummy next month. The best thing I can thing to describe it as is if Bruce Springsteen fronted a punk band.

I'm not into Celtic Punk. I've heard a few Gaslight Anthem songs and they were okay. Do you know where I can get any downloads?

Yeah, their early stuff is but I don't really listen to their EP's or Demos. Just too much disortion driven guitar to make me think it's really folk. Either way I'll still consider it folk-punk.
