Default It's official: Pop music too loud and all sounds the same

Quote:
Comforting news for anyone over the age of 35, scientists have worked out that modern pop music really is louder and does all sound the same.

Researchers in Spain used a huge archive known as the Million Song Dataset, which breaks down audio and lyrical content into data that can be crunched, to study pop songs from 1955 to 2010.

A team led by artificial intelligence specialist Joan Serra at the Spanish National Research Council ran music from the last 50 years through some complex algorithms and found that pop songs have become intrinsically louder and more bland in terms of the chords, melodies and types of sound used.
I'm not even 35 and I can tell they all sound the same too.

Although older songs may be more varied and rich, the researchers advised that they could be made to sound more "fashionable and groundbreaking" if they were re-recorded and made blander and louder.
OH GOOD GOD PLEASE DON'T.

OH GOOD GOD PLEASE DON'T.
Why do you think that certain bands keep putting out the same record every year?

Popular music at the moment is too electronic and technoish for my taste. I only like about 10% of what I heard that's on right now.

1 I could have told you that.
2 why do they not analyse something like punk or reggae or blues instead of pop music ?
3 I hate pop music so I really don't care
4 remakes sucks . no matter if its movie books or cooking or music being remade remakes sucks anyway.
5 forgot what I was going to say.,
6 oh it was I hate remakes.
7 and that I hate pop music and the louder it gets the worse it is.
8 remakes should be forbidden by law and the creativity police should arrest remakers and torture them.
9 ..............did I mention I dislike remakes ?
