annoying "gay porno" voice shouting

When I log onto this forum, an annoying voice shouts and repeats: "Hey everybody, I'm looking at gay porno!"

Why is that happening, and can you get rid of it?

I get that too... I have to mute my speakers. Someone should fix it asap before members quit using the forum because of it.

hahaha its really funny when it happens when people are over.

It's not particularly funny when you're at work, and it's your lunch break, and you innocently want to log in to see what's new in punk-rock-world, only to have THAT go blaring out to all the other people sitting at desks nearby.

It's especially troublesome when everyone at work already presume you actually happen to be gay, because, they then automatically assume what this voice is screaming, is true.

It makes them angry and they look at you like you're some kind of a disgusting pig for looking at gay porn at work.

I enjoy punkrockers.com, but not enough to get fired from my job for it. I'm not independantly wealthy, and I gotta eat too, y'know?

I don't get anything like that, and I think it's safe to say that's not something the site is designed to do that.

My guess is either someone embedded a link to an audio file somehow, or you have a virus.

Where exactly are you getting this? On your home page right after logging in?

Assuming it's on the home page, my guess is that someone embedded a link in their activity status. Try scrolling to the bottom of the page and click on the 'view my updates' link to hide all updates other than your own, and see if you still get it. If it goes away, then it's one of your 'friends' who embedded the link in their activity that's the cause of the problem.

It is when you go onto certain forum topics, more of the newsy type ones or political, but spread out to a number of threads/topics-won't play every time on a topic but maybe 1 in 3 times you go there.

Well, I've reloaded this thread about 2 dozen times, and still nothing.

Until I actually see it happen, it's hard to diagnose. I'll keep looking.

Might seem like a stupid question, but are you sure it's coming from this site, and not somewhere else? If you do a google search on it, it's a pretty common prank.
