Anyone from Chicago?

I'm looking for some Chicago contacts. Preferably someone with booking experience in either a band or as a promoter. My band is trying to tour a bit. I can post links if anyone thinks they can help but need to hear what we sound like. I just didn't want to look like I was spamming.

I am living in southern Illinois, but do have a good friend in that area who may be of some use to you. We grew up in Fl together. The guys name is John Fee, he lives on the northside, and drums for a band called Hold Everything. Their sound is somewhat commercial in my opinion, but John's roots are as punk rock as they get, and he does have connections up there. They play out quite a bit, have recorded a time or two, and have done several small tours (the band has slept in my basement when playing St. Louis. I haven't looked but I don't think they have a profile on here...I'll check in a minute. But if you go to facebook or myspace look up either John Fee or Hold Everything. Tell John that Melanie Middleton suggested you contact him and that your trying to book some Chicago gigs and hopefully they can hook you up.

Hopefully everybody in your band is 21 and over, otherwise it will be difficult to get a show in Chicago. People on this site who are from Chicago who might be able to help you would be Circus and The Fog, and Voice of Addiction. I myself, am trying to book myself some shows. (And I'm from Chicago, so believe me when I tell ya it aint easy)

Me and the drummer are 25 and 26. Bassist is 20. We will play whatever, but are really hoping to get a basement or something. Last time we played in Chicago it was at Reggies Rock Club. We got booked with some bands from the area but it was empty as fuck and none of the bands were our style...so we are trying to get a hold of some cool bands similar to us. I know a dude named Jeff who plays in a band called Running and used to be in one called Parsley Flakes...but his band is a lot different style so I'm not sure we'd go over big. Someone told me about a place called the Mutiny...but again I want to avoid contacting venues themselves because in my expirience finding a band who wants to help you works out better. Anyway..thanks for the info and help!

I thought about Minnieapolis but figured Chicago would save us money. We are playing Champagne the night before and Chicago is only two hours from there. Who can I contact about show in Minnieapolis? We can try and book there instead. We aren't set on where we are playing.
