its funny how punk cant be left wing or communist or religious or whatever. its starting to get funny over some time when you read all these things punk is or is not. from punks themselves.

we live in a world full of too many choices, we have conform to some rules whether we like it or not but it's nice to know that you don't have to follow those expectations and still be able to walk down the street, listen to one thing one day and dress however you want the next. it's hard for people to stick to one way of being or doing. religion and punk is a weird mix but whatever tickles your pickle.

What an incredibly ignorant thing to read.

All gods, no masters.

Its like saying..."Don't follow any rules...cept for the ones I tell you about" Organized religion is a scam...I'm sure more christian punks know that. But just believing in a higher power isn't hurting anyone. I typically leave people alone about their religion unless they bother me about my lack of one first. Its not my place to place rules on them. If we don't want religion shoved down our throats like a dick...then we can't shove atheism down theirs.
i wish more people thought like that lolz

Well. You can't prove or disprove a higher power. You can only believe or not believe there is one. It doesn't hurt anyone if someone believes. It hurts things when you shove it down peoples throats. From my 10 or so years as a punk I've learned one thing about what punk is supposed to be...and that is tolerant. Punks always shout about unity. Well unity means we all live together...not we all think exactly the same. To me punk isn't about breaking all the rules. Its about choosing the rules you like and saying "fuck you" to the rules you don't...and then being tolerant of others who choose different rules to run their life.

exactly

however on a personal side you can prove a spiritual higher power. but you can never prove it to others simply because it happens inside you most the time. that is maybe why we today call it a believe where in the past it has been a reality because everyone where of faith. in old days it was truth. today we lost our ability to believe . this hurts a lot of things because in the old days we where told to not abuse the planet. today even though we can prove how much we hurt the planet there is no one caring because they do not believe they will be punished for it by the creator. this is one really good aspect of religions.

PS Punk is about taking rock and roll back from giant corporations. The "punk lifestyle" is about individualism, which can range from someone being atheist, to someone being a priest who happens to love the talking heads, or whatever. We're talking about a musical subculture here, SOME punks are anarchists, SOME punks are republicans, SOME punks are drunx, SOME punks are drug and alchohol free.....go figure.

being punk is about being yourself yeah and be able to put your foot down when needed. Not about making records that you know the audience's willing to buy.
