Sonic Youth - Washing Machine

Just recently got into Sonic Youth, and I got their album Washing Machine. I love the songs on this album, it has that weird noisy Sonic Youth-iness (? no, okay) to it that you'd expect, but the thing on this album that made me fall in love was the 20 minute version of The Diamond Sea, excellent. If you like Sonic Youth, totally check out this album.

I've enjoyed Sonic Youth since I first got my hands on a cassette copy of Daydream Nation many,many years ago. I was listening to mainly hardcore and metal at the time but was totally taken in by the sounds coming out of their guitars and oozing out of my stereo speakers. I liked that their early releases were originally on SST, the label owned by Greg Ginn and Chuck Dukowski of Black Flag. Washing Machine is good. Check out their other cd "Goo" if you get a chance.

There is a 30 min version if Diamond see as a b-side, but it's also on their collection the Destroyed Room.

me likes sonic youth. also once had every title they released in Denmark . meaning full albums.

the early work is the best. the latest are crap. something like dirty or evol is alright but there was some more experimental things going on with them in the beginning.

also washing machine is a good album. I got it on minidisc.

I really enjoy the 3 albums they put out prior to their latest. Sister and Washing Machine are my favs tho.

Posting to say that this was my first Sonic Youth album, and possibly my favorite because of it.

Best album is Kill your idols. that one i Had but no longer own. thats sad because its really the best album they made I think. they also made music for a movie which I had the soundtrack for .
