there may already be a post about this but i wasnt gonna take the time to go through all the posts.
basically im just looking to see what people think about the companies and people out there at make jackets and vests for people with whatever patches and studs they want on them. i personally think its ridiculous and the whole point of having a jacket or vest is d.i.y and that its unique to you and the way you make it, and also theres some pride in making something that you love and will have for years to come so whats everyone else think?

I think we have discussed this here before but not sure if there is a thread. I dont think there is a problem with someone making a vest for someone (My vest was a Christmas gift from someone that knew me well, but I have since customized it a bit), but going out to a thrift store and buying a vest not knowing shit about the bands whom are on it, and sporting it because it looks cool and punk is a bit...well...poser-ish. But that's just stating the obvious I guess. Oh, and say bacterium, not bacteria. Bacteria is plural ![]()

i also dont think theres a problem with helping someone make a vest but im talking about the people who do it as a business for profit, you send them a list of what patches you want on it and where you want them and what kind of studs you want and they make the whole thing
thanks for the clarification of bacterium/bacteria, its actually a quote so i wrote it down how it was said

im against it. i understand if people dont have all the time in the world to make a jacket but it doesnt all have to be done at once, do a little here and a little there. the creative aspect i think would only come into play for painting, studding and sewing patches requires no skill and it takes 2 minutes to learn how to stud and sew. i do and have always felt the main thing with having a done up vest or jacket was the d.i.y. aspect of it. i even seen online a company that makes ripped and fully patched pants, i thought i was gonna puke

I think there are a lot of other people here that would be against that sort of vest/jacket business. Myself...I dont know. Maybe it's a gender thing. I have a feeling that more guys would be against it than girls.

not trying to sound like a sexist pig but i agree with you on the point of more guys being against than girls. ive known tons of girls would would have dressed like a punk if they could have bought a pre made jacket or vest
