Default Nevada Senate Candidate Blamed For AZ Shooting

They're saying that Sharon Angle's crazy rantings may have contributed to the Arizona shooting.

Quote:
In a remark that became an issue during the Nevada Senate race, Angle in a January 2010 conversation with a conservative talk show host commented that "Second Amendment remedies" were available to people "if Congress keeps going the way it is," specifically referencing Sen. Harry Reid, her Democratic opponent.

...and people called me crazy because I voted for Reid.

I've met rabid conservative talk show junkies before and there's a lot of them that do take the shit too far. I just think it's funny that the same people who want to censor us are now on trial for shooting their mouths off. Get some!

You'll have to explain to me what she meant by "2nd amendment remedies".

In an interesting twist that mimics the same sort of politics the right gets stereotyped for exclusive use of.

The irony is not lost on me. The bigger irony is that many of the people who tried to censor us are democrats like Hillary Clinton who threw her voice in favor of this witchhunt.

Now the real question is are we going to stoop to their level, and agree with them that censorship is OK when its politically beneficial to us, or are we gonna stop with rubbing it in their faces and show them once and for all when we take the higher road.

Keep in mind %85 of the nation is not involved either way, but watching.

Of course I don't want to censor them. I want to allow them to act like idiots so everyone will know they are idiots and that goes for both parties. Oh and btw the religious right has been trying to get rid of controversial forms of music, language and movies since the '50s so don't even try blaming the entire mess on the lefties. It's both. It just so happens that the right wing blabbermouths got bit this time and they fucking deserve a taste of their own medicine.

Personally if you can't take the heat for the things you say then don't fucking say them. You have a right to free speech but everyone else has a right to exercise that right too when they respond. It just so happens that some nut case took it too seriously which is one of the consequences of running your mouth as a political figure.

Hmmm this all kind of reminds me of when they say Maralyn Manson, Horror films or violent video games make school kids pull guns on other school kids. My personal opinion is that killers fit into about 3 categories, Crimes of passion, Murder for financial gain or phsychopath.
I don't believe anyone kills purely and entirely on a political speech they may or may not of heard.

*Make that 4 categories if you include "by accident"

While possible, there's no indication that it did.

However, the people who used this kind of rhetoric ("2nd amendment remedies","don't retreat, reload", etc) really do sound like hypocrites condeming the shooting, since it is exactly what they were implying, regardless of whether or not they were serious.

They got what they asked for, now to find a way to blame the other guy for it happening: cue Sarah Palin and her video camera...

It may be possible but ultimately you have control over the weapon. You must decide whether or not to pull the trigger. You know killing is illegal and what may happen if you do. It doesn't matter if this guy was told to kill people. He knows better especially with killing a 9 year old girl.

Oh yea I know, it's like they got their wish but it just so happens a little girl got killed too. Oh well, if nothing else it shut that shit up for a while.
