Vermin that need to be eradicated:
FUCK YOU #1: Scene dicks that talk shit on bands. You spread lies and rumors about my band. I don’t even know you and you don’t know me. If you paid attention and checked your facts(which are easily verifiable) you would see the truth. But instead, you relish in lies and live a life of ignorance. You fucking misinformed sheep. Wake up. You are no better than the ignorant masses that you claim to rebel against. Enjoy your alternate reality. FUCK YOU #2 This one is complicated but here goes. Anybody that tells me punk rock is for little kids. Or that violence and drama are part of the “punk scene” in such a condescending way that they imply they have found an alternative. The last time I checked, this was about music. Punk rock and it’s little borther hardcore virtually created the indie label world, touring networks for clubs less than 1000 capacity, and the DIY aesthetic of the current music underground. To brush off something that important as “kiddie stuff” while exploiting resources and ideas given to you by it, ok FUCK YOU. Adults buy cars and jewelry they CANNOT AFFORD to impress their neighbors and feel good about themselves. They buy huge TVs they don’t need, motorboats, gizmos and useless gadgets, all in the name of vanity. What is the difference if a teenager buys combat boots too look cool? What is the difference? NOTHING. You don’t “grow up”. Your toys just get more expensive. Materialism and glamor. End of story. Nothing changes as you get older. So don't tell me to "grow up". You grow up first. "FUCK YOU #3 Know it alls. Seriously, if you cannot make an informed judgment on something, just shut your trap. Everybody speaks for the sake of speaking. At one point the madness has to end. If you are an expert, by all means speak up and educate! If you are not, learn humility and take notes from those that do know what they are talking about. Credibility goes a long way here. Snap judgment fails everytime. Just open your ears and open your eyes. You will make your life and the world a better place if you know what you are talking about and doing. Know it alls version 1.1 These extra hardcore vegan/straight edge/punker than thou types. Jello Biafra said "They are sooo hardcore and badass for what...6 months? 2 years? and then you know life goes through phases..." These extreme individuals have embraced punk rock, good for them, but then their unwarranted self importance and superiority complex kicks in, and decide that nobody else is as punk as them. People like this are the reason for so much in-fighting in the music scene. They take perfectly good sane ideas and warp them for their own selfish uses as if punk was "their thing" and nobody elses. It's these exact people that cause an awesome genre of music to look bad. You don't need to be anybody's buddy but using terms such as "poser" and "sellout" to anybody or anything is really just one more reason people think punk is complete bullshit. I know so many bands who have shaped punk as it is today, that are fuckin hated for trivial reasons. I'm all for free speech but seriously these jackasses open their mouths and spew this vomit, it really makes the world a shit-hole for other people. Done.

FUCK YOU #3 is the one I can say the most about. I understand that people go through phases but I don't understand how you can change every year or so. Is this because someone hasn't found their place? I don't know but I know that I am tired of people telling me that me being me is just a phase. I am on the second phase of my life. 2 phases in 19 years! I don't plan on stopping being punk anytime soon. The first phase I just went through life living for other people but know I'm living for myself. This is where I'm staying. Also, my depression isn't "just a phase". That's the one I dislike the most.

It was way back in high school and my close friends started up a band. Now, you gotta understand that where I'm from, there were a total of about 8 "alternative" kids, which included goth, metal, punk, pothead, and the occasional foreign exchange student. No "scene" in any sense. But anyway, we start this band, play a few local shows, and even manage to record a few tracks on some cds. It was paid for, created, and fostered by us with no help at all from the community, our families, nothing! Nobody wanted us doing what we were doing in our "good ol' boy" small town. It was a constant hassle and uphill climb, but we went for it with a gusto. Definitely DIY, I would say. So eventually, we drive over to Boise and start handing out stacks of cd's to record and music shops, just to GIVE away to folks. Not to sell. Just wanted to get the name out there and get some feedback. Eventually, we hear about somebody reviewing it on one of their myspaces, so we check it out. It was pretty scathing. Some punk rock superhipster going on about how we had no talent, were just country-bumpkins posing as punk, and would do everyone a huge favor by never making music ever again. Man, we were pissed off. We felt kinda betrayed, because we thought these people here would support what we were doing, would be on our side. But no...they shot us down, just like our parents, teachers, and everyone else in our backwater little town did. It wasn't like we were ripping anyone off either because we handed them out for FREE!!! But looking back on it, he may have been right on a few things, but he missed something huge. He missed the fact that those 4 crappy little songs on those cds mean A LOT to us. The represent something that WE MADE with no help from anyone else. It was no talent, and all fucking passion! (Remind you of anything by any chance... ) Every time I go to a larger city and encounter these guys, I just get so irritated. They make punk rock, something important to me, seem so superficial and petty. It was this mentality that drove me away from the mainstream, prescribed lifestyles, and it sucks something hard to see it in the people and scene whom I thought I could relate to. Ok, I'm stepping down from the podium now.

There's a lot of pointless dvisions in the punk scene, even at local level you have people who won't go to certain venues, or gigs put on by a particular faction etc etc.
What I don't like most of all is preachy types trying to tell me how to live my life. I'm a grown man and know what I believe to be right or wrong. I get sick of the same bs rhetoric that never ends. Get a grip, party in any way you feel like, get a job or don't and enjoy your miserable life! ![]() I love the smilies you got here too ![]()
