Default What gives you a hangover?

I thought maybe drinking too much of something or mixing the wrong drinks gave you a hangover. My bartenders teacher told me that its the cheap stuff that will fuck with ya! Ha common sense or what?!? lol

Normally it is sugary drinks that will cause hangovers.. I don't get them, I am Irish, Hispanic and Native America, I got the drinking power, other then sluggishness, I can only think of 1 real bad hangover.

I know more about hangovers than anyone. I swear I do haha!
The cheaper the alcohol the less it is filtered and therefore there are more impurities. Sweet drinks sometimes have thes impurities added to enhance the flavor. That is one of the reasons sugary drinks can make you feel worse. Hypglycemia is another reason. Dehydration is the cause of the dry mouth and hangovers because the ethanol in the alcoholic drinks causes you to pee a lot. Then it breaks down into another poison called...acetyl. shit. Cant remember but it ends in "hyde". That is a worse poison than ethanol.
Your body metabolizes alcohol at a rate of about 1 drink oer hour. So actually drinking the same amout of alcohol in a short period of time that you would usually drink in say a whole evening will cause a worse hangover.

beer seems to be the drink that gives me the worst hangovers. I can drink a 6 dollar 750 of vodka and other than feeling a bit dehydrated, im good to go.
