Default tighter sewing techniques?

i'm getting ready to buy a denim jacket for the winter ahead, and my patches normally end up falling off, is there a certain technique i'm not using?

I use this stuff on the edges of patches:

Super glue would work okay too.

After I use that I sew around the edge with thread as close together as my machine will allow it. It doesn't hurt to go around it a couple times. Then I sew the patch on whatever I want it on.

Double back your stitching. I also found this thread that's like wax coated or something. It's pretty strong.

I just use the sewing machine hehe, if one end comes loose I put a safetypin in it to keep it one.

A bit of double stitching doesn´t hurt either

Sew them on with a tapestry needle and fishing line and/or use a bit of fabric glue.
