Default Suffer review

The first time I heard Bad Religion was when I heard a tiny bit of Los Angeles is Burning. It went by so fast that I didn't know what to make of it. I later listened to the full song and was deeply impressed. I later listened to a lot of their classics such as I Want To Conquer the World, American Jesus, Generator, You etc. At this point I was getting really into the band and when I sat down and listened to Suffer from start to finish, it blew my mind.
First off, the guitar work on here is fantastic. Brett Gurewitz and Greg Hetson are amazing rhythm guitar players and this albums showcases some of their finest work. From the aggressive attack on Delirium of Disorder to the slower paced groove on What Can You Do? Jay Bentley keeps the rhythm rolling with his fast and accurate bass playing. Pete Finestone's classic hardcore style drumming is catchy, energetic, and never gets boring. Last but not least, Greg Graffin's vocal performance is amazing here and is probably his best ever. His sense of melody and emotion are at its peak here. Overall, this album is a punk classic that should not be overlooked by anyone, I proudly give Suffer a 5/5. A punk rock masterpiece!

Nice review. The first album I have listen from them was Against the Grain. I love Suffer, but to me No Control is my most favorite BR album.

The first time I heard Bad Religion was the first 7". I've liked everything they've done, including Into the Unknown, but when Suffer was released, it blew me away. It was a perfect record. It's no wonder they've stuck with the formula & released the same record ever since.

I've only met one other person in the forum that like everything BR released that wasn't me.

The only reason why I loved Into The Unknwon because before I got into Punk rock, I was huge prog rock fan, so I tolerated it, and found some awesome songs in that album.

My personal opinion is that 'How Could Hell Be Any Worse' is the greatest album of all time but 'Suffer' is good too.
