Detox is a female fronted band from Beirut / Lebanon. They are the first punk band in that country, formed in ‘05 under a different name and a slightly different line up. They sing about toxication, the streets of Hamra, cops, militias and the wars, especially the war in ‘06 between israel and lebanon. Heavily influenced by bands like; Discharge, Motörhead, GBH, The Anti-Nowhere League, The Plasmatics.

Totally thought that this was the legendary punk band from LA that had Steve Humann from the orginal Vandals. Nowhere near as good, but kudos to them for existing in Beirut of all places.

i like it cause is the first one... and from 2005... i mean... the first one? i imagine all the repression and oppression from the government in that country then.

Great stuff. "Red Diesel" is a great song. And who of thunk it that they've heard of GG Allin in Lebanon, let alone that some woman would be singing a GG Allin song?
