Sup, I'm living in Adelaide and was wondering if there was a punk 'community' in a certain part of the city or any particular places good for that kind of thing.
Later in life when I can afford to, I'm moving to New York City, anybody know any of the above mentioned features in the big apple?

Adelaide eh? that's pretty specific..
well i used to live in Adelaide, up until about 2001. There used to be a lot of punk bands going through the Crown & Anchor hotel, i had a couple mates bands play there. Your best bet would probably be to start there on any given Friday night, though ye be fairly warned; skinheads = fights

I know.. Stuff.. In NY. NYC is mostly hip hop and hardcore now, but you've gotta look in the right places. Also, NY is more than just NYC, it's a big state.. Albany for one had an alright scene.

like when CBGB's closed. Small country-city-town like Adelaide on the other hand, NEVER changes. Hence why i moved.

Well, its the closest neighbour to Perth, which is the most isolated city in the world, if that gives any indication. Not too far from Melbourne though, which is in turn not too far form Sydney, & those are swinging places. Adelaide is... well not swinging by any broad definition.
