The Republican National Committee spent about $150,000 on clothing, hair styling, makeup and other "campaign accessories" in September for the McCain campaign after Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin joined the ticket as his running mate. To put this in perspective, the median yearly household income in the United States is $45k. Palin’s clothes cost more than three times what Americans are making in one year. Here are some other things that cost $150k:
3 Cadillacs 20 years of groceries for a family of four 375 iPhones 12 Healthcare plans for familes of four 7500 Children’s food kits through Mercy Corps A 5-Acre farm with horse barn, spacious 2 story 3500 square foot home, 4 bedrooms and 3 baths in Mitchell, Indiana 30 Lasik eye surgery procedures 214 Hours with a prostitute in Nevada 250 30” Plasma TVs 120 Disney Dream vacations 15,000 911 Heroes Commemorative Plates 3300 Dinners at Outback Steakhouse 50,000 gallons of gas 4 Student’s Tuition and Fees for all four years of college 926 Season Tickets for the Los Angeles Lakers 4300 H&M dresses like the ones Michelle Obama wears

Actually, they're not our dollars - they're RNC dollars (to which I don't contribute).
To the RNC, spending $150,000 on wardrobe and stylists is good politics. Spending it on any of that other stuff would be socialism. Who cares about feeding a family of 4 for 20 years if you can look good for a 6 week campaign.

I would buy a 2009 BMW M6 for about $100,000
and the rest I would use to keep the car running well...but that's only if I had an excess of money...for that now...I'd travel and donate and all that stuff. but man. her wardrobe doesn't look like it costs that much.
