With the growing support for Gibson, I’ll be the first to admit I have had to hold my self off from selling important things. Before this garbage with the Green Goon Squad of Total Lameness and False Flaggery incident happened, everyone and their mom wanted a Gibson.
Other guitar companies have copied Gibson to insure the survival of Gibson engineering. Is Gibson suing the locals or the foreign copiers? Gibson proudly continues to do things they way they do. As far as quality, no contest... Gibson is the best in the world. Everyone loves a Gibson. If you can get one this year, go for it. I know everyone one wants one. I encourage everyone to earn this guitar. It really is worth earning. Save up, it’s a good habit. The quality on the imports is really high these days. They will last years of playing. I have had a few foreign guitars and I have a few now. Sometimes they make the waiting a little easier. I encourage competition. I encourage you to earn as many of your favorite guitars as you can earn. There are plenty of good guitar makers and builders all over. Get a comfortable guitar. Rock me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9PJAK0mOa0

I can't play those. I don't feel comfortable playing Flying Vs or any variation thereof.

I do play an Gibson SG. the epihone SG I had and gave to my brother. they are nothing like the real thing even though they are Gibson owned.
A better and cheaper guitar built by Gibson to their standards is Kramer. they rock. I will have to say that everyone needs a real Gibson or a Fender . to make a good sound. the Japan and China copies are worthless and so is the cheap fenders. other good guitars that are not fender and gibson is Dan electro. and ibanez. these are alright and in some cases even better than a fender or gibson sound wise . depends on what you want to play.

I already have two Gibsons. So if I get anything this year (which I won't) but if I did it'd be a Fender Telecaster.

Sorry dude, but in my opinion Jacksons just don't cut it. For me it's anything Strat or nothing.

To me there is NO guitar really "superior" to another one, they all fit a niche and does what they are designed to do, for Trash/Metal etc, Jackson R series are rather hard to beat.

I'll spare you little details like the Strat's Tremolo and how it goes out of tune all the time only pulling on strings without using it, and we do a lot of it... I saw a 16 years old girl playing "reign in blood" on an acoustic guitar, doesn't sound like metal to me but she still cold play it tight, and if it wasn't the case, metal guitarist wouldn't be using Jackson that much.
