Mediocrity

Well now there are a lot of people on this site that feel they are smart. Some are smart and know it, and well then there are some others. Those others will realize one day that they are not incredibly smart and at the same time they are not stupid by any means. They are just mediocre. I can speak from personal experiance on this. I used to think I was way above average. Until I met smart people. LOL I have now accepted the fact that I am simply average on inteligence. I am OK with this cause I have also met some stupid people and damn that would suck. LOL, Anyway if your smart or dumb, who cares. Character goes a lot further than intelligence.

By the way, this is not directed at anyone in particular.

I thought I was around average untill that day in grade 12 I decided to skip school to get drunk with a bunch masters' students and discuss philosophy. That was probably the closest I have ever felt to having the entire universe line up just for me.

going to university didnt make me feel average, it just made me feel lazy. most of the people who succed arent really smart, theyre just really driven.

some of the the tutors, however. now they were smart. tho i cant tell if i admired them for that or for the quiet modesty that the real fuckin geniuses seemed to have.

i was drunk and rambling about the possiblities of freedom and trying to explain the true meaning of anarchism. he told me i just needed to 'get a really gut wrenching job that would break me'. utterly defeatist

I never said I was just average. I said I have accecpted the fact that my intellect is just average. But again character goes much further. I am far from average. But I will never be the smartest person out of a group.

i think its kind of hard to seperate the two to be honest. character is defined by ones intellect and vice versa. its hard to imagine myself having the same mannerism and ideals without my intellect being what it is.

and again the reverse applies. if youre an inquisitive character you are bound to learn more during your live and thus be a wiser and more intelligent person.

I've finally come to terms and accepted the fact that I'm of average intelligence at best, It's just that having to make up for that with overwhelming charm, personality and good looks is takin' alot outta me, jeez!

I've been told by several doctors that I'm above average intelligence due to psychological testing that I've done. I guess all in all it doesn't really mean much to me.

I don't know if you're referring to me or not...but yes I do feel that I'm pretty intelligence ONLY in certain areas. When it comes to mathematics, or any type of biology...I totally suck.

Everyone is good at certain things, I excel in art, literature, grammar, and any type of psychology.

I have my pros, and my cons just like everyone else.

Some people on here do believe their the master of every subject, and that is just so they can heighten their already very low self esteem.

Also, I'm one of those people that think mostly on the right side of my brain, look that up...then you'll be able to see my weaknesses.

I apologize if I come across extremely cocky in my posts.

Agreed...I mean Hitler almost took over the world, and he didn't graduate high school...neither did Stalin.

That doesn't mean that education doesn't effect your intellect though.

i wouldnt say its 'huge'. as the old cliche goes, the brain is a muscle. active education keeps it sharp thus maintaining your level of intelligence.

I have changed my mind. I am the smartest person in the world. And if you disagree well then your stupid. I am a genius.
