American History X sucks.
and any outher movie that makes skinheads look like bonehead nazis.
the assholes that made it got sued by the anti-heroes for having a tattoo of there logo on one of the nazis arm.

SLC Punk was pretty funny, I liked it, I know a girl who has that same kind of Jesus shirt(the one with the classic pepsi logo) that the guy from that Extreme Corporal Punishment wore.
as for American History X?......Meh, its good, not something I'd watch zillions of times, but if its on TV, and if Mortal Kombat The Movie or some decent anime isn't on, I'd watch it.
but if you want a real awesome movie about racism, you watch Crash, one of my all time favs.

^As a film fanatic, I'll admit Romper Stomper doesn't really have any value, and the plot is pretty much non-existent, but sometimes I like to rot my brains.
slc punk was awful. i dont think ive ever seen so many cliches in one film. the 'hero' conforms, meaning that the only message you could ever derive from it is that you should just shut up and put on a tie. ive never understood why punk kids actually like it, its completely backwards.
if you want an 80s punk film watch 'suburbia', at least it had a clue.
oh and i was glad bob died. thats what he gets fooling around with smack.

i liked slc punk.. i liked suburbia although there were some lulls in the story.. romper stomper pretty much had no reason for being but i watched and enjoyed it just the same. American history x was a good movie about racism.. there are neonazi's out there and yea maybe skinheads and boneheads do get mixed up but what are you going to do about it? It's pretty much the same stereotype when you see a guy with a turban what do you think? if you want movies that fight stereotypes go ahead and make one cause i doubt you'll see any anytime soon regarding skinheads or punks (can't wait to see meditate and destroy)

he was drunk at a party and he complained that he had a head ache. then some drunk chick gives him a drug called Percodin, telling him that it would help his head ache. Then he goes home, falls asleep and dies from a pain killer overdose
thats even dummer than taking smack. taking pain killers when drunk from a drunk person.
not that it matters, as he is a fictional character.

Yeah. Damn mod kids! But suburbia wasn't that stellar, the baby scene in the begining was a little too fake for me and same for the kid getting pegged by the car at the end (if we're on the subject of death). The plot was lost a little in the movie too, but it was still pretty good.
oh god, yeah. it was by no means a good film, i never said it was. but then its not the quality of the plot or the oscar winning performances that make it enjoyable. its the odd sense of autheticity that seems to hang about it.
the kids are by no means misstaken heros, theyre little bastards and give as good as they get. i like that about it. a lot of punk films try to make punk kids out to be little angels that only react to people being dicks to them, but not these characters. theyre homophobes, racists and theives. i liked that they were given the flaws that seemed to be rife in the early hardcore scene.

Not to mention the movie was as silly as Hollywood could make it. Like black vs white white power skinhead basketball games ever happen. Fuck I had a whole rant about how silly and retarded that flick is, but I haven't watched it in years so I can't recall all the idiocrasies that film has.

Penelope Spheeris directed all three of the "Decline of Western Civilization" films, "Dudes", "Hollywood Vice Squad", "The Boys Next Door" and my favourite that I think blows the shit out of "SLC Punk" which was "Suburbia" (1984)!
I even like "Class of 1984" better than "SLC Punk!" and its not just because Teenage Head are playing in that movie either.
I liked SLC Punk in some areas, it's okay but its not great or anything. The only true personally relative area from that film that I experienced in real life was that a crew I ran with did have a normal geeky as hell looking guy that you did not want to mess with or piss off!!:eek: He could handle himself and at a show I did see him take out two guys at once without assistance. I never saw him again or knew what happened to him when I stopped hanging out with those guys.
