What are some of your punk clubs in your town now and/or 20-25 years ago? Having spent my younger years in Atlanta GA. The Metro-Plex was the Punk/Hardcore capital of the south in the 80's.

Where I'm at now? None. Where I was 25 years ago was Mad Gardens, The Mason Jar, and The Salty Dog.

Since I have renounced all Western music, I ignore all current clubs. Twenty years ago, my clubs of choice were:
Nightclub 9:30
D.C. Space
Hung Jury Pub
in Wershington, D.C.

There's an all ages "gay" club in Portland called the Escape. It's THE place to find guys in lingerie and girls who can't dance. It use to be The City. They played Iron Maiden and shit. It was amazing.

lots of diy hangouts and venues. rancho huevos, fort kakalak, whoever's house is big enough for at least 100 people to fit in.
occasionally south side bands play in the much nicer rock clubs and bars on the north side that usually host shitty, poppy north side bands. south hardcore bands generally have a bad rep with the north venues though which is why we get very few northside shows. in short the city's punk scene is divided between the 77' , oi/street punks and skins on the north, and the crust/grind scene on the south, which is also accompanied by the hardcore/thrash scene.
25 years ago it would've been the metro or an open loft.

I've noticed most stadiums built with basketball in mind are fairly easily converted into a setup for shows. But it's a real dead crowd since you have the stupid seats all within two inches of one another, but you can get a clear shot of the stage no matter where you are. Then again I'm a bit biased since I've never been to big on arena rock.

You lie. You've been to plenty of shows in arenas... Your band tours and plays arenas all of the time!
