I have a documentary on GG somewhere that is fairly interesting. But as far as GG's music goes.......
Complete and total shit, the only thing less intelligent than GG is a GG fan.

I disagree, he was actually a decent vocalist when he was with the Jabbers, but his other stuff is horrendous.

Sush Jon, you're talking crazy! ;)
Even if his voice was good, that doesn't make the music good.

Yeah I saw a bit of it, I think maybe Jerry was trying to provoke him into doing something, that's sort of his thing.
By the way if you're a GG fan I was being a smart ass about the whole joke, although I do find him to be pretty moronic.

Joe K, called me "Jon", which is what our other Joe, aka Jonhomeowner goes by sometimes. Joe K ,aka Robert Smith left the "h" out of my name, hence the confusion and name calling, but you being somewhat of a newb doesn't help matters....

well.. I wouldn't go THAT far...
His early stuff with the Jabbers was good...
He actually sang, alot of it sounded (sort of) like some good '77 stuff.
Its when he started screaming, grunting and shitting himself that he started sounding like shit..
Go to my profile and listen to "Don't talk to me" on my playlist.. thats a good example..
But yeah.. for the most part.. you're right..

I recently saw the "Hated" documentary on GG. Well, about half of it. Got bored with his antics and tired of his act.
you should watch him on jerry springer...it is also fairly interesting...its quite funny how jerry was such an uptight asshole about everythingHe guest hosted a programme over here [UK] called "Have I got News For You"
admittedly his show is rubbish. It however can not be denied he is a man of high intelligence.
though I reckon a media whore goes without saying as well ??

I saw him in 89 right before he went into prison, and then in 91 right after he got out. The 89 show ruled! He hadn't become the fat, balled, three trick pony yet. The 91 show was still great though. But I'm biased. I love him. I think he's a musical genius. His song writing never stopped being catchy. It's funny to me how a guy who calls himself so lousy couldn't NOT write a great song that wasn't freaking toe tapping. Ass Face, Cheri Love Affair, Cock On The Loose, Teenaged T@#ts, Anti-Social Masterbator, ALL of his acoustic stuff, Shove That Warrant Up Your Ass... It's all good. I've been arguing with people since 87' about whether GG Allin is "good" or not. It's a waste of time, you either like him, or you don't. Some people like My Chemical Romance.

Actually I meant to say "it" vs "I"
The music started to play, GG came out wearing a cowboy hat and had a drum stick half way up his ass. That is all he had on! The first song he just walked back and fourth on stage, breaking beer bottle after beer bottle on his head. The song ended. The next song came on and he jumped up and climped the rafters above him. Went over the middle of the crowd and dropped straight down to his head. Knocked out cold! Show was done!

lol sounds like my old hardcore days when i was younger and less fat... throwing a skateboard out in the crowd and trying to jump on the skateboard while people held it up, falling off and knocking myself out cold

And yeah, his earlier stuff was different, but GG went downhill quickly.
Malpractice where he played drums was okay.
So was Stripsearch and the Motor City Bad Boys (or MC2) stuff which had ex-members of the MC5 backing him.
The Jabbers stuff was the best stuff but as soon as that ended he went straight to shitsville.
wow thats insane, i wish i coulda been to one of em! but i heard of him bashing a girls head on the stage, not something im into.
My wife broke a beer pitcher over his head, knocking him out and stabbed him in the chest with a shard when he wouldn't leave her alone after a show.

For one thing; this fucking album was the worst piece of shit that I've ever heard. If you're gonna buy a starter album, get Expose Yourself; The singles collection, Always Was (To hear him sing), or Freaks, Faggots, Drunks and Junkies.
I personally dig G.G. a lot. He's probably the only person that I could say I idolize on a musical basis, besides Kurt Cobain. I first got into G.G.'s music when I was seventeen. I stole a copy of freaks from this record store that wouldn't sell it to me 'cause I didn't have an ID. He was the greatest thing I'd ever heard at the time, and the only musician that I can't kick outta my cd player for too long without going nuts and replaying.
I've seen his last band; the Murder Junkies probably eight times. Are they the same without G.G.? obviously not, but they're still a fun show to watch, especially with their new singer, 'cause Paul Duvay's the shit.
On a musical basis, I've always considered G.G. to be an acquired taste, like cigars or fine wines. Even just by talking about him in this thread, people give him what he thought he'd get after death anyways. The fact that he'd be remembered twenty years after! Anyways, fuckin listen to one of his records, since he's an essential underground artist.
