In spite of despising most religion it still intrests me extremely. There's a wide number of relgious denominations that punks come from and many more smaller lesser know that they also are drawn towards. It's contraversial subject perfect for a punkrock board.:D

I found that many addictive personalities when they become clean from drugs will go way overboard on religon, usually the born agains. It's funny they will drop one addition to aquire a new one.

Same here, if it truely makes you feel like your a better person go for it. Just they need to keep it to themselves if others aren't receptive.

If you are curious about religions and spirituality plus want to know some awesome facts about corruption in organized religion I recommend reading The Secret in the Bible by Tony Bushby. It will both blow and open your mind.
I am Russian Orthodox, by the way. It's the most mystical of Christian faiths that originated in Bysantine.

Ohh I love reading about corruption in religion. More so than anything I love to hear from first hand accounts about it. I'll check it out. I'll give anything that claims it can shatter my opinion on certain religions, texts, and what have you. I consider myself pagan. It's rough and I usually don't talk about it cause most people are too ignorant to know the diffrence between the old paganism and the perverted nazi version neo-paganism that just completly racializes it.

Can one say that Russian Orthodox really originated in the Byzantine Empire? I mean, really, they both came from Christianity... Which originated in the Roman Empire. Once there was a disagreement (as there has been throughout the history of Christianity), the Empire split and thusly the Byzantine Empire was formed... And in the east they were very orthodox and believed scripture and what Jesus said was the ultimate authority... And in the west, they thought some douche bag named The Pope (not to be confused with the user here) was the ultimate authority.
Fun fact: Pagan originally was a term for Christians. The Latin word "paganus" basically meant "simple folk/yokel/hillbilly/etc" and was used to insult Christians because they were considered to have a "silly faith", because it was not the official faith of The Roman Empire ("Religio Romanus" was, of course). When Christians took power they were like "LALALA, HAHAHA, YOU'ER ALL PAGANS. NOW WE USED YOUR WORD AGAINST YOU! OWNED!"
And hence, pagan has been associated with "non-Christians" (or more specifically, polytheists) ever since.

Yea he knows Colin.
But yea I think all religions should just blow up into one and we all just worship the same god and the same prophet...God and Jesus.
But yes I know that will never happen.

Haha I like that little fun fact. Probably why my few friends and I refer to ourselves as heathens more so than pagan. Haha but if it means folk/yokel/hillbilly/ect I'm still down. hyuk.

Francis Bacon said something to the effect that when one first starts delving into philosophy, the natural result is to become an atheist, but as one gets deeper into philosophy the evidence of God becomes apparent in all facets of existence.
Organized religion - politics = faith

We can talk about religion in the politics section. I'll tell you all about my childhood, and why I believe what I believe. About your religion, I won't be offensive if you wont :).
By the way, it's good to be nosy. You should go into sociology.
PEACE LOVE EMPATHY
