1. He has a stuffed dancing hamster on display in his Senate office.
2. His wife says her obsession with electronic gadgets and technology is one of his pet peeves.
3. He says his pet peeve is politicians who talk too much. (He admits that he's guilty, too, sometimes.)
4. He's not much of a shopper, but he likes to buy rugs when traveling abroad.
5. His favorite book is "For Whom the Bell Tolls," by Ernest Hemingway.
6. He was addicted to the TV show "24."
7. He carries a lucky penny in his pocket.
8. He played Scrooge in the POWs' staging of "A Christmas Carol" at the Hanoi Hilton.
9. His movie favorites include "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World," "Casablanca," and "Viva Zapata!" He and wife Cindy have seen "Mamma Mia!" twice.
10. He talks to fellow prisoners of war, those with whom he shared a cell in Vietnam, almost daily.
11. He has seven children. The first two he adopted from his first wife's previous marriage, the third was born to him and his first wife, the next three were born to him and his second wife, and the seventh they adopted from Mother Teresa's orphanage in Bangladesh. He has four grandchildren.
12. His wife was in Bangladesh on a charity mission and brought home baby Bridget without checking first with McCain.
13. He describes himself as "a person who is mostly normal."
14. His parents "eloped" and got married at Caesar's Bar in Tijuana, Mexico; McCain's grandfather accompanied them.
15. He's serious about the finer points of barbecuing, and he likes to deep-fry turkeys in peanut oil.
16. He wasn't happy when Hudson, the neighbors' black lab, ate the tenderloin he'd been marinating to grill for dinner at their ranch in Sedona, Ariz.
17. He doesn't like to be alone.
18. At Christmastime, he likes to supervise the lighting of about 1,000 luminaria candles on their property in Sedona with family and friends.
19. Going on vacation with him is anything but relaxing. His children call it "Camp McCain."
20. He's an early-bird, not a night-owl.
21. He doesn't e-mail. He doesn't surf the Web. He likes to read the newspaper in print. He's attached to his cell phone.
22. His office window sill is overrun with stacks of books. He hands books off to friends once he's read them.
23. He's into fruit trees. And birds. He keeps binoculars and bird books at the ready in Sedona. His pet collection: two dogs, two turtles, a cat, a ferret, three parakeets and 13 saltwater fish.
24. His wife is super-rich. They have a prenuptial agreement.
25. He programmed digital remotes at the family's homes in Phoenix and Washington so they can call up DVDs in any room.

Perhaps, but he is a human being. You may not like his policies (I'm not saying that I do), but just because he's running for president doesn't mean he can't enjoy a good dancing hamster now and again.

I bet it was one of those really old ones that was attached to the tv by a chord. Maybe that's why it took him so long to upgrade, he didn't want to reprogram another remote!

Yeah, why vote for a guy who will die in office and hand leadership over to a governor when you can cast a vote for the person that is running for president with little experience?

That's the joke. Get it? The joke is that republicans say Obama is inexperienced, but they now have a VP that is just as inexperienced... And since McCain might die of old age any day now, you'd be voting for inexperience.
I really shouldn't have to explain all of this to you... You should be able to understand simple jokes.

He became an American "Hero" by flying a jet in bombing missions over a sovereign nation where hundreds of thousands of people were murdered "from above." ...where the goal of the American air campaign was to bomb the Vietnamese "back into the Stone Age."
It's funny - a few Muslims kill 3000 people and they are the most heinous terrorist scum bags in modern history.
But if you help slaughter hundreds of thousands from 30,000 feet you are a hero...and maybe President.

Honestly, I have plenty of disagreements with Palin, but she does have more experience than Obama... of course there are differences in experience. Obama has more experience in regards to judiciary type matters and matters of foreign policy (even though it is considerably less than McCain's experience in that matter). Palin has more executive experience. Running local government, balancing budgets, that sort of thing.
P.S. McCain is younger than Ronald Reagan when he was a first term president...

Well then on second note, it doesn't matter if he believes in his policies, only what he actually does. I'm sure alot of Republicans weren't for the Patriot Act, but they did as they were told, same thing here. I'm not interested in what McCain believes in, just in what he's going to do. So his policies are very important.
Also don't worry too much about being an asshole, it's not like I know you personally, I can handle someone who disagres with me. Even if it pisses me off, it's your opinion and I can get over it.
And Cassandra RUINED that song in Wayne's World! And that's one of my favorite movies, just hated the way they redid that song. If you haven't got it already, go find the original album Desolution Boulevard, it's a great album.

im not worried about weather or not i am an asshole. but i was not trying to be one. once again i am completely accepting of other peoples opinions! but i will always debate them (even if i agree) and when i do it is never my intention to hurt anyones feelings or make them feel like i dont care about what they have to say. i just wanna strike a little frustration and anger in them.
and maybe im not being clear enough here!
heres how i feel... McCain does not care to use his possible future position to benefit us! thats for sure! he does not give a flying fuck about either one of us! or anyone else for that matter! not too mention! he is just a puppet!
the real people who have any say on what happens are the people who control the federal reserve! what they say goes! they control the money therefore they control everything else! ... this is why i do not believe that his "policies" are important. lets just say that they are true (just for the sake of argument) these "policies" are not really HIS ideas! weather or not he agrees with them, i dont care, but its not like it matters anyway!
We are fucked no matter who we "vote" into office! the same people will still control what goes on!
so... i dont give a shit what he says he is going to do! because incase you havnt noticed most politicians dont stick to their original promises anyway! ( i mean look at this election both of them have already contradicted their previous "promises" or "policies."
all of this is nothing more than a distraction from a bigger picture!
thinking about whos going to win or even small details about there lives does not matter! "none of this matters!" (as previously stated) you are missing the big picture!
we are being fucked so hard by people who are untouchable! and there is nothing we can do to stop it! ( if you can think of something please let me know) but as far as they are concerned we are nothing more than cattle to be controlled! they crave power! and they do whatever they can to get it!
we are being fucked in the ass by these power hungry bastards
and youd think that they would atleast be generous enough to reach around every once in a while and stroke our dicks from time to time.
and yes there version is def. better but i love waynes world! and that dress she was wearing was awsome!!! everyone that ever babysat me as a young child hates that movie now because i would watch it all the way through and then when it went off i would rewind it and start it all over again! i dont even know how many times ive seen it! and yes i've got it! :)

I think she's just frustrated Chris.
And although I think voting is an honorable notion, I don't exactly think our vote really matters all that much. That doesn't mean people should not do it, becuase it does have some influence. But I honestly feel that the electoral college is simply there to give use the illusion of some sort of controll.
Then again, people are so easily mislead and dumbed down, maybe it's not such a bad thing after all.

The electoral college was probably a good idea back in the day, when there was no way of instantly communicating across the nation, and censuses weren't as accurate. Having local votes and then sending a representative to a specific place at a specific time probably made a lot more sense.

Ofcourse ive been watching Carlin!!!! i love him and Bill Hicks!!! and from time to time i can dig some Mitch Hedberg!
sorry i didnt mean to confuse you haha
its not neccesarily bush that im talking about ... dont get me wrong i think hes a terrible person and president! and to be honest im not really sure what his policies were when he first ran because i was in ,i think, the fourth grade when he ran. haha but i know he is def. corrupt and he has definately violated our rights! he is no better than wilson when it comes to that!!! ( he was a piece of shit too) fucking espionage act!!! ... anyway! ha but like you said he did as you expected! i am just really frustrated about this whole election and future of our government! i am still in high school and i am currently taking u.s. gov. and it is amazing how ignorant the kids in my class are about there own country and how easily they fall into the lies and propaganda! i love history but i have always hated my history class' at school because they never tell you the whole story!!! like ww1 for example! personally i feel the germans had every right to counter blockade! and they had every right to shoot down the lucitania (not sure on spelling) i mean the german gov actually put adds in the u.s. papers warning citizens not to ride ships going into british waters! and the speculation of weapons aboard the lucitania. but do they tell you that in school??? no do they tell you that hundreds of thousands of germans starved to death because of the british blockade??? no!!!! its not fair! i mean i know that i care and i will go home and look it up if i dont already know about it but other kids will not do that!! so they are educated soley by the shitty school sytems! that is proof that they are dumbing us down through school as well as chemically! so that we will be easily controlled! this is why elections dont matter to me because none of this is going to change! we will still have terrible public education, horrible taxes, ( to pay for war and the fat paychecks of our "elected" officials) and our future will still be over all doomed! we will be controlled by our gov. (more so than now) and the worst part is we will be asking for it!!! because we are so stupid!!! and its not our fault! i hate to sound cliche but they are keeping us down!!!
sorry to go a little off subject! :)

i do not appreciate the hostility and i have a right to voice my opinion ( for now any way) wheather i vote or not! not to mention i am not legally able to vote! and dont you realize... just because things arnt all that shitty yet, dosnt mean they are not on there way to being shitty! why dont you do some research. :) you will be amazed at what you find! i mean we almost became a right wing dictatorship about 10 or so years after ww1! a group of very wealthy men ( the same ones who caused the stock market crash) joined and concieved a plan to overthrow our republic and put a dictator into power!
http://coat.ncf.ca/our_magazine/links/53/macguire.html
read up on this guy and click on some of the links if you would. :)
our rights are being violated and this is not the first time! our governement is already corrupt and has almost become a dictatorship before! sure it failed that time, but the same families that planned it then have more power and money now! and they can do whatever they want!
they are using the same tactics! last time they created the great depression and this time they have created "terror" (9/11 "attacks")
look up CHAOS, MERRIMAC and, RESISTANCE. these are all secret programs conducted by the CIA to spy domestically. look up a video called "Money as Debt" look up espionage act, the rockfellers and the rothschilds! watch the Russo interviews! research flouride poisoning! and nazi expiramentation with flouride! just do some research!
I choose to speak through activism! not voting!
we are manipulated into believing that if we vote we are some how making a difference! and on a small scale yea you are but i want to make a difference on a much larger scale!!!
you see Chris, shutting up is the problem! we need to stand up and say something! if you feel that you would be more comfortable keeping your mouth shut then i will not stand in your way! so please give me the same courtesy! :)

First thing first, you need a candidate that people will vote for. The fact here is there are 350+ million people in this country. For you to say that YOU know what's best for them is a bit silly. You know what's best FOR YOU. and even if you are a minority, you still get a small tiny little voice. Enough of those voices can change things drastically. Barack was one of of those voices. I still have to pinch myself that somebody with the character and decency of him actually pulled ahead. It's mind-boggling considering this country's history.
you see Chris, shutting up is the problem! we need to stand up and say something! if you feel that you would be more comfortable keeping your mouth shut then i will not stand in your way! so please give me the same courtesy! :)
No, I say that if you vote for somebody and the other guy wins, you can give the world the finger and say "told-you-so" when the guy you voted against passes crap policies. You live here and you are still an American citizen whom plays by America's rules. Dissent is part of our society. Rebellion is pretty much a virtue here. Defending inaction is doing no better than supporting the status quo so I completely agree that shutting up is the problem. I just get very frustrated when people yell with very loud mouths about something they don't completely understand and aren't 100 percent passionate about.
When you say things like "manipulated into believing we have a vote" it makes me understand that you have really no idea how much elections have shaken up the system. Many victors come into office and sweep the plate clean, changing economies, culture, lifestyles, almost overnight. Big business, lobbyists, these folks that truly pressure senators to do what they do...but the fact is, the Senators wouldn't be in the Senate without citizens voting and supporting them initially. End of story. We choose to pick candidates that are lying to us. In this information age, things have gotten better, but we still have to weed out alot of the bad seeds.
The problem isn't the government. It's the folks that end up working in the government that fuck it up. There's anexception to a popular unwritten rule...it's in politics and it goes....You must hate the player, not the game.

Did you even pay attention to anything i said!
I agree that it is the people in the govt. that make it corrupt not the gov. it self. that is why i gave you a link to Gerald McGuire! sure he wasnt an elected official but he still had alot of pull!... you know why??? because he was wealthy and so were his friends!!! did you look up any of the things i suggested to you!
and as far as their being a candidate worth voting for... i think your absolutely right! i do believe that there should be someone worth voting for! unfortunately their is not one! which is why i would choose not to vote in this election for McKain or Obama! because i dont believe in either one of them! i would however vote for somone else!
"I say that if you vote for somebody and the other guy wins, you can give the world the finger and say "told-you-so" when the guy you voted against passes crap policies. "
I understand where you are coming form when you say this but i do not whole hartedly agree. because, you see, this goes both ways! if you voted for the idiot guy who was passing "crap policies" then you would feel like an idiot wouldnt you? and this another reason i would not vote for either one of the candidates this election. i believe that both of them are idiots! i do not agree with either of their policies! it would be wrong for me to stand up and support someone i dont care for or believe in!
now, i am usually really calm and cool when it comes to disagreeing with others about their beliefs and opinions and i never try to offend them ( if i did offend you at any time i apologize) and most importantly
I NEVER MISS - QUOTE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

now i will try and stay level headed as i make my point on this subject in which i never spoke this ignorantly of!!!!
i will use a numerical order so that this will be a little shorter!
1. i said " i think we are manipulated into believing that our vote makes a difference" and i also followed it up with and yes we do to a certain extent!
2. i do have an idea! their have been some great men to come through and make a great difference! FDR for example ( eventhough i still think he was a piece of shit as well he did make some positive change)
3. and while yes, we do vote sentors in... they are easily corrupted and their opinions are easily swayed by men with money and power!
(cough* rockefellers)
4. your beliefes seem to contradict themselves! you say that "we choose to pick candidates that are lying to us" now even though i completely agree (as i think ive made clear in my post here) you have led me to believe otherwise about the way you feel about candidtaes. you seemed very gung ho about voting for our presidential candidates so what makes you any different than any of these other "bad-seeds"
p.s. obama is no different than any other p.o.s. politician! in my opinion!
if you like him then im happy that you have someone to believe in! i wish i did!
also please do not mis-quote me gain! :) thanx

holy fuck!!!! what the hell is wrong with you??? you didnt back up any of your points and you have the audacity to call my opinion ignorant???!!! just because i dont agree with you does not mean my opinion is ignorant!
also, just because i will not vote for somone i dont believe in does not mean i am throwing my vote away! i think doing the oppossite would qulify though!
you should vote! and you should vote for someone you believe in! i dont like either of the primary candidates! therfore i would not vote for them! it wouldnt make any since!
I have been tolerant of everyone elses opinions! is there a reason that you feel i dont deserve the same repect!?
if you want to be someone who has no idea about the truth and would rather live the american lie for the rest of your life then good for you! but i will not stand by and pretend that everything is all honky dory! because its not! and i think i have shown adequate proof of this! if anyones opinion is ignorant its yours! and i can not blame you! because i realize that one must be above the average intelligence of a retard to realize that you are being lied to! i can aso tell that you watch alot of fox by your arguing stratagy! it is much like bill o reily's style! never actually proving a point, and trying to put down your opponant by making false accusations rather than actually trying to prove your own oppinions are right!
its sad really!
i do hope that you will realize your own ignorance before you lable anyone else again!

It's not actually such an uncommon opinion that voting for a third party is throwing your vote away. Not enough people vote for a third party for them to ever win. Therefor, a vote for a third party is generally a vote for whoever wins......

It's pretty simple to back up my opinion.
First off all, Obama is black, obviously making him different in one way than any politician before him. Secondly, he gets a majority of his campaign money from internet donations from supporters... Again, making him different. You said he's the same as other politicians before him. I've already proven he has at least two differences. There are numerous other differences that should be easy to spot if you know anything at all about him.
Now, as for throwing your vote away? If you're going to vote for somebody that has no chance of winning, you're wasting your vote. It's a pretty obvious concept.
just because i dont agree with you does not mean my opinion is ignorant!
You're completely right about that. However, in this case, saying that Obama is exactly like other politicians is ignorant. And the reason it is ignorant is because you obviously lack knowledge of Obama if you feel that way.
you should vote! and you should vote for someone you believe in! i dont like either of the primary candidates! therfore i would not vote for them! it wouldnt make any since!
Voting for a candidate that can never win is just as useful as not voting.
if you want to be someone who has no idea about the truth and would rather live the american lie for the rest of your life then good for you!
Ad-hominem, red herring, speculation AND unproven correlation for the mother FUCKING LOSE.
but i will not stand by and pretend that everything is all honky dory! because its not! and i think i have shown adequate proof of this! if anyones opinion is ignorant its yours!
You have shown absolutely nothing.
and i can not blame you! because i realize that one must be above the average intelligence of a retard to realize that you are being lied to!
More ad-hominem.
i can aso tell that you watch alot of fox by your arguing stratagy!
I do watch a lot of Fox. I love to laugh.
it is much like bill o reily's style!
I could say the same about you.
never actually proving a point, and trying to put down your opponant by making false accusations rather than actually trying to prove your own oppinions are right!
For instance, the above is exactly like Bill O'Reilly. And, in fact, your entire post is exactly like part of your above statement (hint: it's the part between n and t, starting at "never" and ending at "point")

Obama said something that made me think. "I am my brother's keeper".
I have followed Obama for a very very long time now. (remember the DNC 04). I have always had contempt for the 2 party system. Obama saw it as a necessary evil in order to promote his ideas and ideals. 8 years ago they would have saw him as a joke, a loner, and a dreamer(indeed he was to a degree), but he told his story and his dreams. I was one of the people that heard his story and understood exactly where he was coming from. HE GETS IT. As a person that respected him before he was particularly famous I just wasn't sure what political philosophy I was a part of. I thought I was libertarian, but I leaned too much toward socialism. I think I am just me, and individual and a member of a group.
You can choose to vote or not vote. While I think it is non-harmful to vote for somebody that you believe in, I don't necessarily find it too foolish to not vote. It is easy to feel disconnected from these people in "power" growing up in a culture that worships the dollar. But to brush off people as caricatures is where you are wrong.
This is where the media wins over you, me, and all of us. They know that to prey upon our fears(of government, of authority in this case) they can get all of us to feel completely disconnected.
Again, caricature is the key word. There are all types of people in the political system. I cannot believe, for the life of me, that out of all of them, only a tiny TINY percent are decent people. NO WAY. Not every fucking possible. Not by a long shot. For you to dismiss them all as horrible people OR EVEN to dismiss a MAJORITY OF THEM AS BAD, is where you are seriously wrong. There may be brainwashed masses, but if you were to profile each person you would find that most people in general are simple, like able and wish to do no harm upon anybody else. The fact is, they are preyed upon alot of the times by the system.
We all have to do things we may not want to do to get where we want at certain times. It's what you do to get where you are going that defines you as a person. When you are helping somebody IT IS SELFISH. Because it is what YOU LIKE TO DO. People are inherently selfish. What you understand about anything, IS NEVER the complete story. Certainly I won't stand to be an authority figure on living life, I can only offer small pieces of advice.
Why should I believe that any other human is capable of helping another? Why? Without support from each other we are nothing. Without each other there is no humanity.
Every once in a while those moments happen in life where you see the truth. Moments where you are so broken down and exposed and simultaneously the world around you is exposed.
We love to be together and share in moments with each other. We love to feel a sense of belonging. We love a sense of well being and individual power. We wish to be the best we can possibly be.
Many times in my life, and I know in alot of other people, TIMES ARE BAD. I feel so pissy and negative. I feel like nobody can save me from the places I've put myself in. I feel I could have a career as an escape artist. Some folks are down on their luck. They are down on their self image. Some folks are just plain in ruins. They need the help and support of others, or they will perish. They will be forgotten.
When I am doing well, I find myself acting quite strange...I help others without expecting any help in return. This is enough to gratify me. I am my brothers keeper.
And if there's a chance that somebody, wether it be a politician, or a teacher, will help out my brother, I will do what I can AS BEST I CAN. and though voting is flawed, and I'm not so special that "it won't mean anything" it is what this wonderful man wants from me. It's small, easy, and given to me for free. And you know what, for the sake of my brother, I'm going to do it. Considering his life story and the choices he made, I don't believe Obama was lying when he said "I am my brothers keeper."
Judge me not as a caricature evil little troll, but as somebody that also gives a shit and this is my way of showing it in the only way I know how. I am not naive enough to believe that my life will change overnight. That isn't why I'm voting. I'm voting to help out another man, whom, right now, though this could change, is a good decent man that wants to help others as well. If it changes, it changes, but what I'm voting for is very, very real to me.
