anybody ever make or modify their guitar, or any other instrument?
i've done this several times, i recently just made my own neck for a guitar, and wired new pickups in.

yeah actually i do. im in a band and i play lead guitar. but recently i got this dumpster guitar. a gibson 335 hollowbody. someone threw it away. and let me tell you it was fucked up. but i fixed it up and all i need is a new bridge and its all good. that guitar cost me part of my thumb though. i got some dice and drilled holes in them for the knobs and the drill slipped and got my thumb.

i really dont have to do anything my jackson is perfect except i want to put better tuning pegs on the head...i mean it stays in tune when i have the locking mechanisms on, but if i play with them off it slips out of tune pretty fast

The dumpster guitar. I don't know why you'd want either of the other guitars to sound like shit.

i had a set of active pickups once, i didn't like them too good. i hope you got to try out a guitar with them in there before you bought them.

I used to have a real cool Tiesco hollow body which got all smashed up. I took everything out of it (wiring, pick-ups) and put it into a scaled down guitar for children. Then I painted the whole thing with thick red house-paint, strung it with all G-strings, tuned every string to G and played it with a strait razor.
A kid at a show in Indianapolis picked up the razor during my set and threw it to his buddy, who reached out to catch it and got between his fingers cut!
I called this guitar my "Janglaroo." Lou Reed had the same idea in the 60's and called it his "Ostrich Guitar." I thought I had invented something-- even though I'd been listening to the Velvet Underground for many years prior to re-inventing the "Ostrich Guitar."

What is the point of tuning everything to G? That sounds... Pointless.

The only thing I ever tried was to fix my terribly old and worn out squire which just started to sound awful and ended up breaking it completely. The only sound that comes out now has a weird kind of treble on it which can't be taken out haha.
I kept it as a decoration thing though since it has a load of stickers on it through which it's hard to see it was once a blue guitar.
My new Ibanez hollowbody though, I never had to do anything about that but change the strings and I can do that haha.
Oh yeah, I fixed a bassguitar once as well, someone wanted to throw it away so I took it and fixed it. I'm only looking for some new volume buttons or whatever you call em. Since this one doesn't have any.
