What, no Jack In The Box? What about Hardees/Carls Jr (same restaurant, different name in the east vs the west)? I would think there are more of those than White Castle.

Just curious where you got your 'Top 10' list from...

I miss Jack in the Box and Wienershnitzel. Ah, to be on the west coast again :X

The only fast food I will eat is Chick-fil-A. And that is only because you get a little taste of Jesus in every scrumptious bite.

I thought they finally shut down Jack in the Box after their 20,000th poisoned customer. Actually, now that I think of it, there still is a really nasty one on Mission at 24th in SF.

Jack In The Box has really turned around in the last decade or so. Slower than shit because they cook everything to order, but tasty.

And, they brought back Jack.

LOLOLOLOL.

So, we have one thing in common. I cannot argue with you on this. Well, the Jesus part, I can... But I suppose you are just making a joke about the "personality" of their restaurants. However, the only fast food I usually eat is Chick-fil-A, so we have a common ground!

Hmm. There are way too many choices for "fast food" overall, but I'd love to see Quiznos, Chipotle, and Qdoba added to the list (as well as the already-mentioned Chick-fil-A). Unfortunately, I know that this forum software only allows for 10 polling choices.

Apparently they have only shut them down where you live. Jack in the Box was one of my high school fast food jobs. They are no better or worse than any other fast food place. Well actually, better. No one else has deep fried tacos :o

Wendy's and Subway. :) Burger King is ok. I've never had Sonic, but it's motivation to visit my brother in Colorado.

Qdoba is very good. People were excited that we were getting a Taco Bell when we already had a Qdoba. Qdoba is much better.

Shit, I just fucking realized that, since I like Chick-fil-A, and Soup likes Chick-fil-A, I must be his lackey!

Also, Qdoba and Taco Bell have their points... I prefer neither. Qdoba has the better food, for the most part, but their prices are higher, and they have less locations - meaning less convenience. I can easily have Taco Bell just about anytime, but I have to be in certain areas to get Qdoba... Or drive really far.

KidoftheBlackHole

There's a Qdoba and a Taco Bell within five minutes walking distance from me. So I can go to either.

They may have improved, but historically, they can really knock 'em dead!

I am actually quite confident that there is a little morsel of Jesus in every bite. Don't tell me I've been under some sort of illusion all this time.

After living in the Mission in San Francisco, I have a hard time dealing with fast food burrito joints like Qdoba. And even then, in South Carolina, most of the Qdobas went belly up for some reason.

This is how bad the burrito scene is outside of California. I went to a "California Style Burrito" joint in Asheville, North Carolina last year, and these assholes had STEAMED WHITE RICE in the burrito. WHITE RICE. Maybe they were talking about California - a town in central Idaho or something.

The fast food burrito joints around here (Boloco, Qdoba) are pretty good.

Yes, I remember all that. But, I don't know if I would call e-coli "injured". They got e-coli. Food poisoning. And that was 15 years ago. Since then, they now have extremely strict rules about how long their food is cooked. Just like McDonalds does about their coffee since they were sued for the woman getting burned. Yes, that is a lot of people to get food poisoning from a restaurant and no, it's not okay. However, it is quite common on a much smaller scale in the restaurant/fast food industry at large.

There are tastes that don't go together well, and I'd avoid putting them together.

But everything in that bowl is pretty salty. So it works just fine.

My sister is like that. She WILL NOT EAT any food that is touching other food. I mean, the whole pile has to have a nice pathway around it.

It's like an OCD thing. And she is 38, not five.

Yeah, my soon to be 10 year old does it. But I am sure that he'll still be doing it when he's 20. It's an anxiety thing.

I'm not quite that anal. Touching is fine, but piled together isn't. Different foods mixed together isn't very appealing to me. I like the taste of individual foods - combined they distract from one another, not enhance one another. But that's just me.

but they were the last to get onto the 99 cent menu band wagon. By many years actually.

most of their stuff was under a dollar for years. My mom rarely took us to fast food as kids. When she did, it was typically taco bell, because tacos & burritos were 89 cents, pintos and cheese were 59 cents. They didn't really need a dollar menu when most of their stuff is around a dollar anyhow.

Checkers is a (mostly) burger place that is a very 50s-era thing. It has two drirve-thru windows and a walk-up window. No indoor areas at all.

sounds cool. i still think more places should have late nite walk up windows. kinda sucks for people with no car that still want a delicious burrito at 2 in the morning. like discrimination or something. i know jon, i could just get a cab and have it drive through the drive thru or something, but that's beside the point goddammit!! haha.

i dunno where else has it, i never saw it before getting to wisconsin, but Tom's Drive In? I like it. they have weird stuff like some crazy perchbuger and some other crap like the baconator or something thats like 5 pounds of heart attack wrapped in bacon. and they have a popcorn machine of all things, but they have the best 99 cent menu ever. Bigass burger, fries and drink for 3 bucks. This day and age its tough to get a decent meal for less than 5. plus apparently they have wifi, which rocks. havent got to use it yet but im sure someday it'll come in handy.

I dunno about that last part, actually... When I worked at KFC in high school, we had a policy against cabs. Which I always thought was weird, personally. I mean, if they rob us, there're a million identifiers.

Like...

"IT WAS A FUCKING YELLOW CAB AND IT HAD THE NUMBER 543 ON IT."

There was an awesome place with a walk-up window near one of my places in Chicago. Served the best fries in the city (voted such by both the SunTimes and the Tribune multiple years), sandwiches of all types, burgers, ice cream, shakes... I loved it. Two blocks and I got fed anytime of the night. Mmmm.
