I like a lot of his music, but really I could do without all the poppy sounding "One Love" type shit. But I'm diggin on some of his more raw reggae tunes right now. Discuss.

I've always liked his acoustic stuff like Redemption Song for example..

"Soul Shakedown Party" and "Caution" are very infectious grooves...

Check out the early stuff from 'Simmer Down' (1965) up to when he got famous. There's some fantastic early stuff and they're usually on the budget CD lines.:)

I never got into his music all that much, but I love what he stood for.
i dig all his stuff.
my only problem with the more popular stuff is its horrible over playing. tho, when i rediscover them after a few years leaving them alone, theyre just as good.

It's very possible that's the root of my problem.
Gotta love a bit of bob.
A good mate of mine is mixing the Wailers tonight.
It's very possible that's the root of my problem.
i remember in my first year of uni, when all the kids there were trying to be as 'student' as possible, all i heard was bob marley. every day, sitting in the studio.. "shall we have some Bob!".. cronic. it would have killed any band for me.

Working at a carribean restaurant, I hear enough Bob Marley in one week to last me a year.

The only problem I have with Bob is the hippies worship him like a god making him way too over played! I havn't heard him in a few years so I'm sure I could dig him again...

Bob is the man.
Check out Peter Tosh. He was in Bob's band for awhile but more importantly, had an awesome solo career before he was brutally murdered. He wrote "get up stand up" and heavily influenced more of Bob's political stances.
the equal rights album is pretty fuckin sweet. some of his other stuff is a bit sketchy.

I love this bootleg I've got of some early Bob Marley and the Wailers rehearsal tapes from 1973. It's so good!
