Theoretically that would mean that 30% of the state's population couldn't eat outside of their homes.

Well, it doesn't cover the guidelines of obesity. I wish I knew what they were.

I think that's going to be the biggest speed bump to that bill being passed... It is vague and says that the DHHS will define obesity, so they really don't know how much of an effect the law will have or how useful it'll be, how many people will hate it, etc.

They really don't pay the people behind the counter enough to have to deal with this... Can you imagine being in the position of standing between a very large person and their whopper? "Sorry, sir, we're unable to serve you as you're obese".

I can imagine that position.

It wouldn't be any different from now when you get irate customers yelling about inane shit.

Except now you have something extra to add to it: It's the law.

It'd be no different than not being allowed to sell alcohol or cigarettes to persons without valid ID, some of whom get irate.

Although the majority of this country is considered to be overweight, these standards were set by other people.......who is to say what overweight actually is? I do believe that many individuls indulge much too often in consuming food as an addiction or means of coping with the negativities in their lives instead of productively attempting to confront the issues at hand.

I think the main point should be: people should have a choice to choose to eat where and when they want, but should also become educated on the dangers of overeating. Blocking people from eating by yet more laws is just going to make them want it more!

..........is the proposed ban based on a one-sided point of view?

What's next? Are they going to stop selling alcohol to drunks?

It's already illegal to sell alcohal to drunk people in a lot of places.

The dangers of over eating have been common knowledge for quiet some time now. People are just ignoring them in favour of having a few more Big Macs. I don't agree that there should be laws passed to regulate such things, but if something serious isn't done soon it's going to become a huge public health crisis.

Hilarious!

Good lord! How bizarre! Certain fast food establishments would be noticably down on their profit margin should this bill be passed!

That's one of the reasons I don't see this passing.

Between the bad publicity and negative approval ratings that come with telling fat people they can't do something anymore, and the lobbyists for fast food companies... There's no way this is happening!
