I'm planning to tighten up some old baggy black denim pants, and I was wondering if ya'll have any ideas of what to do with them. I was planning to sew a zipper on them, or rip them apart scrap by scrap and sew the scraps back on with dental floss. I think that's called deconstructing.

Any ideas?

i would suggest just tightening them up and putting zippers on the bottoms of the legs to make them easier to take off, but as for ripping them apart and sewing the patches back on i think that is rather ridiculous, if you want them ripped up and patched just wear them everyday until they start to fall apart and start patching them up

HEY I GOT IT! Pants..with a COLLAR! So instead of using a belt you would use a neck tie! And you can put ankle links rather then cuff links. And each pair should be made out of dress shirts and come complete with a pocket protector

yeah, the bleach thing ain't really me. And i suppose that's a good idea to just wear them out, but i'm actually going to make some god damned frankenstine pants in all likelyhood.

yeah most of the time when you see kids wearing pants that are all ripped up and patched its because their pants have fallen apart. personally thats how ive always done it, i dont really believe in owning a lot of things like clothing and possessions so i patch my clothes up instead of buying new stuff, and i also spend more time living out of a backpack than not so i have to keep my pack as light as i can.

haha sounds hot to me.
I use to have a denim jacket that I bleached. Was pretty cool to, but I gave it to some girl who lived with me for a little while. Hate the bitch now, but it's the coolest thing she owns.

P.s. you could always bleach them and then dye them another color. I think I may try that.

Most of the pants we wear are custom pants. :P

i mean, i certainly have some green flannel plaid pants for when i'm feeling obnoxious or cold in winter, but 99% of the time i just wear my plain black straightleg pants. one pair has a patch or two safety pinned on while the other is nice and clear.

however, the pants i'm looking to fuck with are some older ones with nothing on 'em. sounds fun to me.

I think getting some black denim patches and sewing them on all over would look good. That way you would strengthen the pants and not have to rip them at all. You could sew them on with dental floss. Replacing or covering the back pockets in fabric would be cool as well. Like leopard print or something.
