personally, I dislike peer to peer sites...I find the best stuff on newsgroups, but they cost a bit.
ive been on a few forums where people start their own upload threads and link to places like megaupload.com...where they upload all their albums to megaupload's server..and then anyone with the specific link can download the album from the site.
gotta say, i'm a fan. and with a site like punkrockers..no doubt lots of people will have some old punk tunes. its good if you dont want to DL any software..bad if you dont like waiting for results.

They only put up out-of-print stuff that never made the jump from vinyl to CD. You can easily waste a day on there. If a band complains, they disable the link, so just move on to the next one if a download isn't working.

this is a great site. You are a hero.
limewire sucks. Too many viruses and poor sound quality.
Torrents work well and like said above, people post on blogs. If you are looking for something particular, google "name".mp3 or "name" download.
Dogpile is another search engine good for seeking out rare DL's

this is a good idea. Perhaps we should start an upload thread? Anyone agree?

That's a pretty high risk. Punkrockers could get into trouble with record companies like Fat Wreck and others. It's happen before on other sites.
Because anyone could upload anything and you wouldn't know if you could get into some legal shit. If anything, we would have to use something like RIAAradar to avoid things like that.
BTW, if you want a place where you can get some good punk albums (both old and new), try out kraytracker. It's a great punk torrent tracker I use. However, membership may be closed.

that site irks me, cause they dont post the entire album or EP.
a few examples of blogs like it, that are a bit healthier for your digital collection are:
http://www.7inchpunk.com/
http://anamericanpunkinsuburbia.blogspot.com/ (stopped unfortunately, but theres still some great stuff up there)

I agree, sometime it can be a tease, but it depends on the post. Sometimes you do get the whole thing. Thanks for the links!
