REVIEW IN EMPTY HANDS ZINE
FED UP! “Live @ CBGBs” (2003) United Riot Records
Sounds great for a live cd. Wish the bass was a touch higher, though. Vocals are clear and discernable. Band is tight and clean. Anyway – lots of energy and spite – straight nyhc – really reminds me of Downlow. Sounds like NRSV, Breakdown (incl. is an “All I Ask” cover) and Killing Time; or a heavier version of Warzone or Against the Grain.
Short songs, good mosh parts; fast punky verses with chunky/sludgy breakdowns. Heavy riffs that push through a frenzied, angry set. Tough lyrics about the street and crews and the scene, with some humor here and there. Unity!
NYHC at its best. The Live set catches the energy well.. Good Stuff. Hoist a pint and get those boots stomping. Oi!
