Dear Chris....I have driven EVERY POSSIBLE route between Philly and Worcester Ma. and it is 276 miles via 287 to 15 for me. Wilks Barre 45 minutes to 1 hour north of me, Worcester is 1+ hour north of you...Please just trust me on this one.

But for him to get to Wilkes Barre his best bet is 15 south to 287 west to 80 west. (Provided he's not driving during rush hour, then there is no best way and it will take you 8 hours which ever way you go.)

For those outside the Northeast 15 (the merrit parkway) is also the Connecticut Audubon...speed limits are optional because there is no place for a police officer to hide.

I'll take a picture next time on in the highway...When I'm on the Ma turnpike and see an idiot in the left lane going 50 mph my assumption is that it is a Ct driver and 9 times out of 10 I'm right...the 1 time I'm wrong it is normally a NH driver.
It's also funny that NJ, PA and NY have a term for a driving condition particular to 84 and 15. It's called the "Connecticut cluster fuck".

The tow hitch has a small skull on it that lights up when one presses the brakes.
My van is huge and bad ass. It's nice, I don't see a 16 year old driving it.
