I love to knit and crochet. I used to sew, but sadly, my sewing days are all but behind me.
I also post on ravlery-a knitting and crochet community that's very similar to this one-and I've met some amazing crafters who all share a love of yarn, just like we share a love of punk. I've even met some crafters who are also punk rockers, and the way that both of these communities can band together for a cause is amazing. (I'm in the process of organizing knitting and crocheting afghan squares for sick and terminally ill children, and hen donating them to charities that support the children and the families of these children. I believe that no child should have to suffer an illness or cancer-and knitting, and crocheting the afghans will brighten their day.)
If there any crafters here on the board, don't be ashamed. I say pick up your sticks, your hooks, your yarn, your thread, your paintbrushes, etc.-and be proud that you're creating something.

I've wanted to learn how to knit for a while! Maybe this winter I should focus on that! I sew plenty though. Great to hear about your charity work. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and I frequently get treatment along side Cancer patients. There's always a box of knitted/crocheted hats, baked goods, other foods, and people donating their time including guitar players. That kind of stuff always lifts my spirits!

I want to learn to knit so I can make a sweater that resembles a Christmas sweater, but instead snowmen, snowflakes, and reindeer I wanted to put beers, joints, and 8-balls of cocaine.

I learned form Stitch n' Bitch: The Knitter's Handbook by Debbie Stoller. I highly recommend that you purchase this book. It's my go to for everything knitting!

That's going to look cool!

I love crafting!! One of my biggest loves is just taking old, worn things and revamping them. From clothes to nick nacs to furniture, I love making things look new and different. I like painting things, sewing things, decoupaging things, and hacking things up to use their pieces for other stuff. I'm big on recycling when it comes to using stuff for crafts, I don't like throwing things out and if I think I can use it for something then I will. When I was younger I used to build and paint birdhouses, holiday signs, and other wood crafts with my mom and we'd sell them at craft sales.. I guess that's where I started. I hardly do wood crafts anymore, but that's still one of my favorite things to do.

I like handpainting t-shirts. I don't do it often because it's very time consuming. I first make my own stencils. I'm a perfectionsist, so these projects sometimes take me a couple of weeks to finish. :/
