snippet of day action....
DATE: 02/19/2010 10:03:51 / MOOD: happy

There was a very brief flurry of unreported Day Action last September, Ade explains: Released Emotions Records called me out the blue early Sept saying they were releasing an album of cover versions of old '79 punk hits as it was 30 years since punk was big in the charts. They asked us to do 'Love Song' by The Damned and they would pay for studio time! Daryn was immediately interested so I recruited Pablo on guitar and Dave Roberts from the last ill-fated Day line-up. 'Make it better than the original' the label said! Easier said than done as in my humble opinion there's no point trying to carbon copy songs. Girlie backing vocals to add a feminine touch to it was my thoughts. Cue my lovely old friend Tanya! One rehearsal 29th. September at Blacksmiths in Portsmouth, leave our gear there to record the next day. The label were so impressed with our efforts that they asked us to cover 'No Feelings' by the Sex Pistols. Just as we were looking forward to more Day action the label informed us there wasn't enough time for them to include that due to their release schedules, as they wanted the album out for last Christmas!. So unfortunately 'Love Song' is just a brief, one-off snippet of Day action.... A real shame as like most things The Day have been involved with, for reasons beyond anyone’s control the album’s not gonna be out til April! There’s an album launch night at the 100 Club, 15th. April, featuring a couple of Pistols and Clash tribute bands that also feature on the release. Namely the Sex Pistols Experience and Rebel Truce.

our new site

i've finally completed our new punkrockers.com site. i've kinda selected 5 songs away from the obvious as we've got a great www and myspace with songs already available. i wanted to do stuff away from the norm but have included 'rain' as it's arguably one of most famous songs and for people checking us out for the first time, it's a good introduction. aside from 'rain, 'our streets' was the last thing we recorded in the fall of 2008 before, yet again, it all came on top for us. 'this is my drug' from 1998's 'lethal' album i love, but we never captured live. 'fade away' from 1988's 'soft lights' album hopefully shows and r 'n' b side and 'ramraid' an obscure b-side from 2003, hopefully shows some rock 'n' roll.

thanks for checking out our journey, ade   XxX
