42 bands, 42 songs; my contribution is "Nothing Happened". Many thanks to Bryan Green for putting together this excellent comp and giving bands a chance to have their music heard on a wider scale!

My band's 7" (in MP3 form) on amazon.com...

What I feel when I see this is...I don't know. Bemusement, I guess? And I wonder who actually reaps the scant profits (evidently the label folded years ago). http://www.amazon.com/Aneurysm-EP/dp/B0043WK2ZO/ref=sr_1_2?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1314259827&sr=1-2

Genuinely unpleasant nightmare...
DATE: 08/08/2011 08:17:16 / MOOD: other
Going through a bout of summer allergies/sinus trouble, and it's when I'm slowly suffocating in my sleep that I tend to have the worst, most vivid nightmares. This morning I dreamed of being in a long, narrow room full of folks milling around and talking (a show, possibly)--and some guy comes charging in, punching and kicking everyone. I see a kid next to me go down after a vicious kick in the face, blood streaming from his nose. He doesn't get up and I realize with mounting horror that he's dead, or close to it. People are yelling, panicking, and we all try to make our way to the exit at the back of the room. I keep looking back at the fallen kid as the human tide carries me along, thinking, "Please, can't we do something?!" Then, without preamble, I'm in someone's very small back yard. There's a chain link fence. I look off to my right into a shallow ditch and see a bat sort of crawling and jerking around. I think to myself that it must be sick and start to back away, fearing the worst (rabies). There's another gap in continuity and I find myself on my back in the same cramped yard. Somehow I'm aware that the bat has bitten a lot of people in the neighborhood and they've turned not into vampires, but sick, drooling ghouls. I've killed some of them, I realize, but what's happened to me? In a corner of the back yard is the head of a little girl, framed by black hair--just the head, nothing else. But it's speaking to me. She tells me that I haven't won, that I'm going to get sick and die just like them. She vomits, doing her best to aim it at me. (How do you puke when all that's left of you is a head?) "You'll vomit on yourself, too," she says, "and you'll smell like rancid fuuurrrr." So I was bitten, too. Afraid to look down at my own body to see the wound, I spit at her in hopeless terror. And then I wake up gasping, my head pounding as thunder breaks in the distance. Two Sudafed, please.

Couple more songs
DATE: 07/07/2011 18:38:13 / MOOD: other
At the risk of being met with...well, indifferent silence at best and low-key hostility at worst, I've added a couple more songs that I wrote to my playlist ("Down, Down, Down" and "Alexandra"). They aren't punk songs, and the recording quality is pretty rough on both of them...but I've been told that they're not half bad. Maybe people were just being nice.

Some info about me and my music...
DATE: 05/28/2011 23:14:10 / MOOD: other
Writing and performing songs is my thing--from the age of five, I knew what I wanted to do and I've never had a passion for anything else. I haven't performed in a while, but I'm still writing and I hope to play live again someday soon. (Christ, is it ever hard to keep a band together as you get older...) I was in a number of different bands in the Florence, Alabama area from 1995 to 2006. One of my bands, the Throwaways, released a three-song 45 and appeared on a compilation. Two Throwaways songs, 'Fifth Wheel' and 'I Won't Go', appear here (I wrote and sang 'em both, and also played rhythm guitar on the latter). I was also in a band called Nut Center. We never managed to release anything, but we did cut a demo and the other two songs on my playlist--'The Perfect Hell' and 'Nothing Happened'--are from that session. (I also wrote, sang, and played rhythm on these.) Thanks for listening! (5/30/11: I added 'Freeze-Up', another track from the Throwaways' Aneurysm 45.)
