George Carlin...Dammit
DATE: 06/23/2008 11:43:53 / MOOD: other
For those who do not know George Carlin died last night, and I'm a little sadden by this, needless to say before I discovered punk rock I was a little nerd (still am) that listen to allot of comedy records. Comedy albums like Bill Cosby, Redd Foxx, Richard Pryor, Cheech & Chong, Eddie Murphy (when he was funny), (Saint)Bill Hicks, and especially George Carlin. It got me thinking that you don't hear too many great comedy albums anymore, so as a tribute and for some fun I decided to dig into my collection and upload some comedy excerpts from George Carlin, Bill Hicks and Eddie Murphy on my page. So...Enjoy

The Misfits: The KISS of the punk rock world.
DATE: 09/26/2007 21:28:21 / MOOD: bored
Thanks to wonderful marketing practices, the Misfits are now (in my opinion) KISS of the punk rock world. They dressed in horror make-up virtually popularizing horror rock, their own dolls, and that damn 'Crimson Ghost' image is on anything and everything that can be marketable these days. And I mean everything, I'm now waiting for the Misfits to put out their own brand of condoms, and other birth control devices with the Crimson Ghost stamp. I have to say that I don't necessarily blame them for trying to make a profit, they really didn't make anything when they were together, and they're not exactly getting any younger. Even aging punks have certain materialistic needs.
