girls and tattoos

05/07/2012 01:35:55 / other

I see many of the punk girls here submit pics of themselves, and almost every girl has tattoos. I mean, big ones. I live in Italy, which is conservative-minded. I live in a small province, which is even worse. And I like girls with tattoos. Big tattoos. Where I live I can see only small ones: girls think a small tattoo is fashion, is feminine and cute. They don't really get the meaning of a tattoo, it's just fashion, and I hate it.

I had no choice in the matter. I was only three weeks old when I had surgery. I had something wrong with my pyloric sphinctor-I can't quite remember what the condition is called-and I was away from my parents for a whole weekend in the hospital.

uhmm... well, did you choose to have it? If you did not, it doesn't count :)

Does a scar that I've had on the right side of my stomach since I was a baby count as a tattoo? It's my one proud flaw.

Right. I'm planning to have more, but now I only have my left arm tattoed, a tribal bear on my shoulder and some tribal lines to fill empty spaces near that bear, starting from my left pectoral and going down to the elbow. It has a meaning and it took 3 years to decide. One can't go into a tattoo shop and just ask for the most trendy one. My tattoo artist refuses to do such tattoos. And girls are the ones who usually ask for trendy images, because they don't have a culture of the tattoo. It's not their fault, it's a bigger social problem. That's one of the reasons why I like girls with tattoos carefully chosen: they take time to investigate, they want to say something with the ink they have on their skin.

Well, unless they've got the money to get it removed later on in life, they'll regret having that tattoo a couple of years from now, which is why I haven't gotten one yet. If/when I get a tattoo, it will be one that I will be proud to die with.
