That is actually a great song from them. They were bad musicians. They didn't even know how to play their instruments when The Germs formed. They turned into mediocre musicians later on, so its not a surprise that this song is a great guitar track.
Yeah I know. I just always like it when bands have this persona too! You gotta admit Darby was character and one of the best songwriters punk music had to offer and obviously the first person you think of when you hear The Germs. The band is a really horrible playing band, but the songwriting of Darby crash separated from a lot of hardcore bands and a lot of art punk bands that were in the 80's.
Yeah, The Germs was the first hardcore band I have ever listened to thanks to Bad Religion of course. I somewhat find it rather annoying that a fucking famous person is playing in a hardcore punk band, a legendary one for that matter. How can they call themselves The Germs without Darby Crash? That is like saying Iggy Pop and The Stooges without Iggy Pop or DK without Jello (which actually happened). Its just not right in my opinion.
Lol I don't know why, but I would never go see a Germs concert even if the singer is better than Darby. He is not better than Darby and never be Darby. Its just darby was more than a singer, he was a entertainer and he had charisma, something that Shane West (a famous actor/lead singer for the Germs) will never have...
Their lead singer died in 1993. He committed suicide. Mostly due to his mom's passing and his girlfriend (which was a prostitute) was murdered by a serial killer. I heard one of the band members sing at times.
