Not sure if you are aware or not, but one of our FAVORITE movie Directors of all time George A. Romero is making a NEW zombie movie called "Diary Of The Dead"
He is also having a contest for people to send in their short films, he will judge the films and the winning films will be featured on the "Diary" DVD.
So I was thinking... why doesn't our local underground music scene pull together and make one ourselves?
Picture it... Luchadores knocking down zombies with baseball bats... Brazen Altar flashing sacrificial knives and flame throwers... Skate Death killing zombies with nunchuks while on skateboards, and of course Ar-15 showing up and blowing everyone away....
We could have all our friends dress as zombies and have a blast, to kick off the event, Stoutcity, DMK, rightbrigade, Mammoth, anyone could all pull together and sponsor a huge kickoff show and we could even get more footage...
What do you guys think? We would need... camera people and crew... a budding director.. someone with some sort of a vision of a story... but it is doable.
Even if we don't win, we could hype this as the coolest thing happening in Vic, we could get media involved and hype up press for all the bands, even release a kick ass soundtrack.
If you're interested... (BANDS, FANS, KIDS, Promoters, anyone) hit us up and we will try to get working on this.
We just discovered that we are going to sell tickets for the show on Dec 2. in Dallas.
Being the Wildcard winner, we got a late start and really only have a few weeks to push presale tickets to people who want to come out and support. It's been a blessing and a curse being the wildcard winner, we are happy to have gotten all the online votes being the peoples choice, but it hurts us now.
We wanted to throw a show to raise money ourselves and GIVE them to people who would go, but the venue fell through.
If anyone can hook us up with a show, we'd like to show you guys what we can do.... If anyone wants to buy a ticket hit us up... and we'll get back with ya.
Feb. 2 is coming fast, and with it is the Semi Regional Finals for Bodog's Battle of the bands.
The Stout City Luchadores are going on as the Wildcard winner from the Austin competition. While it could spell all sorts of things for the band to keep winning and moving on... I will say that it was never about money, and it was never about fame or any of that stuff that stupid Nickelback song sings about.
It's always been about me and the other 4 ugly guys standing up and rocking out. Singing about fun stuff, and personal experiences. A teacher once told me I was an artist and I never understood them until I looked at music for what it was. Mine. Oh sure sometimes it gets interpreted the wrong way, and sometimes we are looked at as a "gimmick" but I got to tell you, I have never felt more free than when I am onstage with those guys.
So I have never been or played at the House Of Blues in Dallas. I honestly never thought that would be on the list of things to do... I am after all just a guy content with playing small bars and CWV, happy with the crowd of people who listen to what I have to say. Then I see a picture of HOB and am totally taken aback.
It's big. I rarely play in venues that size, and it is always a humbling experience.
Can't wait to show Dallas what we are made of. Win or lose, you will see a band possessed
