4 track demo from Ftr First Time Riot. Hand on heart track 4 is one of the best tracks ive heard this year, called Meminisse Sed Providere is brill start to finish. Full of medium paced punk with a slight blend of melodic magic with more twists and turns than your average country lane. As good as any demo in 07 but track 4 stands out more than any of the other three my son Brodi loves it ,playin it over and over and again on his demand………. Good to listen to through out with crystal clear morals so, so draw back the curtains from your sleepy eyes and get hold of this gem, it’s a must for punks and oisters of any generation, so go for it………. Not my style to compare but take a chance on ftr first time riot oioioi5 out of 5 Review by Andy(October 07)

Review from www.punk4life.co.ukFirst Time Riot are another band who prefer the British sound which so many of the young British bands neglect in favour of the US style punk that for me gives a band no identity. These guys from the Midlands were one of the best bands to play the SAS 3 dayer earlier this month. I really enjoyed them live and the same can be said about this four track demo EP. This is old school punk at it's best and it left me wanting more of the same. Raw guitar dominates their sound and the vocals are aggressive but tuneful. This is a great effort and 'Meminisse Sed Providere','T.C.B.' and 'Seize The Day' are all great songs but in 'This Country' they have a song that wouldn't look out of place on any punk rock compilation. Hopefully they can get in the studio soon and record a full length album.

Review from Tom Foolery Punk Zine - www.myspace.com/sucktilisagzineThe Riot has here a most professional release for a band still on the nappy stage and breast-feeding from old mother Punk Rock. This 4 tracker has more hooks in it than a whale in Japanese waters. My fave is the final track "Meminisse Sed Providere" (?) which bounces along more than a braless Dolly Parton on a space hopper. This is my fave track as the lyrics about some drunken punk in battered docs and leather remind me of myself! Further points added as they come from Leics. A great opening gambit from a band consisting of ex members of 'Cannon Fodder' if my eyes aren't mistaking me and errr….Cracking stuff. Please sir can we have some more? They definitely have seized the day. Anyone into Oi & punk this is for you!

SAS Gig Review
DATE: 10/10/2007 15:21:05 / MOOD: drunk

Review by www.punk4life.co.uk

After a wealth of phone calls, an avalanche of e-mails and a marathon of organisation the SAS 3 dayer was here. With 15 bands pulling out over the previous few weeks I had eventually got together a line-up that I was more than a little proud of. After just sorting my diary and finishing up at work me and my little un' got to The Thatched House at 4pm on Friday to set things up and greet any early birds. Banners up, a free drink off Banjo and a game of pool with my daughter (you really do need to practice love) and a few faces arrived and the Asezawallas kicked things off due to First Time Riot being stuck in traffic and wondering if they would play or not?First Time Riot made it and by gum me old china I am glad they did. What a fuckin' classy band with a precision and presentation that smacks of real talent and damn hard work. I loved this and again it just left me truly inspired. Another fuckin' good bunch who just need to build up the contact book and then I am sure its just a question of wait and see. Best songs were off the new CD which is a real peach. 'This Country' and 'Seize The Day' are almost anthemic and will contribute to seeing this band go onto bigger and better things. A fine inclusion.

FIRST TIME RIOT - DEMO

reviewed by www.fungalpunknature.co.uk

Wow – can this be true?  Is it me or is the punk scene just getting better and better?  More and more CD's I review these days are loaded with quality and outstrip numerous predecessors in this saturated genre.  Band after band are coming up trumps with classy CD's and for me I really do feel for anyone trying to gain a foothold and make a name for themselves.  As a reviewer it's just ideal because rather that drown in a pile of flyblown shite I can stay buoyant on the waves of some red-hot punk.

Enough waffling and to the CD.  Well the opening riff hits home in attention grabbing style with a Pistol-esque noise commencing one hell of a track.  'To follow your leader is a dangerous game' opens the lyrical output of a track that is a forthright winner through and through with excellent vocals and backing all the way.  'This Country ' is quite an exceptional track and worthy of future compilations everywhere.  Next 'TCB' which again seems to know where the finish line is and just gets its head down and fuckin' hammers home.  Solid as a fuckin' rock.

The last two tracks follow with equal tempo and zest and really give reflections of a unit borne from the early 80's when punks flickering candle was briefly re-ignited with passion and belief.  This statement is meant as a compliment because in 30 odd years of punking I really am struggling to pick out an era when FTR couldn't hold their own.

To all readers of this review and almost as in the words of the third track 'Wake up and seize the CD'.  Honestly you won't regret it!
