Since this would be the only So Cal gig, We decided to make the long haul (200mi) to San Diego. We arrived early and got a room in nearby lemon grove, just a few minutes from the gig. We got to the club around 8:30 and none of the bands had arrived yet, but the beer prices were reasonable and kudos to the Fannies niteclub staff and Mike Henry from Minus-One Records, who went out of their way to insure we were havin a good time.
The only bad thing I have to say about the club is time for them to replace their PA. It would cut out the vocals /guitar periodicaly throughout the evening.
First up were The Neverland Ranchands. Ill give these guys a thumbs up. Fast and tight and a great sense of humor. If you get a chance to see them do it, you wont be dissapointed. Next up were Sok and the Faggots from Tacoma. The PA really went screwy during their set so I cant really comment on them, But I did like their Cd which I heard later. The Fucklords came next, and even though the PA was still fucked, got the small crowd movin. GFI was cool, though a lil too metal for my taste.
Now at last it was the time for the Hooded Ones. I hadnt seen the Mentors since 1982 and 27 years later they didnt disappoint. They played all the hits, Donkey Dick, Free Fix, Goldenshower, Sex Slave, ect. All in all a great nite out. Also remember to vote for Dr. Heathen Scum (the legalise crack, prostitution, and water boarding ticket) for President this November
