Best punk bands imo existed in the 70's and 80's, I especially love hardcore bands. 90's style music I usually ignore. Same with ska bands except there were great ska groups in the 60's as well. But I listen to a lot of stuff like goth, jazz, industrial, whatever. 

My favorite bands to be concise include Black Flag, Husker Du, Minutemen, Foetus, The Pogues, The English Beat, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Gun Club, and many more.
