| BAND BIO |
| In the early 90's during the whole "grunge" hype the New York Times
decided to call up local Seattle record label Sup Pop to get the scoop
on the "scene" and the type of slang they used. Of course there was no
such thing and was treated as a complete joke by the receptionist there
so she gave a bunch of nonsense terms that were never meant to be taken
seriously. Of course the humorless journalists
took it seriously and posted it on the front page as "The Lexicon of
Grunge". Amongst these terms was "harsh realm" meaning a total bummer,
or a bad time. Something about this hit home...it just has a ring to it
doesn't it? Harsh Realm, the perfect way to describe the current world
we live in, the music in the mainstream is horrible, jobs are hard to
come by, our government is too busy bickering amongst themselves to do
anything to fix this sad state of affairs and we're all so pissed off.
It fits the music we're playing as well. The perfect name, a great
inside joke for those familiar with the whole "grunge" thing with a
serious meaning behind it. We are Harsh Realm and we are here to
destroy your hearing. Let's see how deep this rabbit hole really
goes... |
