Chasing for Glory, founded in 2006.
Merged from the bands „colorbone“
and „hawaiian baby wood rose“ the stoutly polit punk band Chasing for glory
coming from Straubing, Niederbayern, was founded. To create the individual style/concerts
of CFG, two guitars, a base and of course a living drum machine are needed to
rock the socks off the audience. The respectless beats, that wont keep you from
dancing kick ass.
As soon as CFG rocks the stage and
the audience brutal forces will be unleashed. It doesnt matter if in Berlin
Kiez Pubs or festival stages, CFG always comes with rough melodies that will
kick your ears into your brain „...polit punk rules the suckers“
No more violance than pure Emotions
and daily living – these are the creative sources of CFG, who are not running
through the streets as do-gooders or tree huggers. Once you listen to CFG,
pointing at grievances in your environment with your finger is then a thing of
the past.. To stand up, discuss opinions rather than just charge these is the view of the 4 polit
punk rockers. Doing political punk rock is naturally understood matter of fact
of the bavarian quartett. The gifted musicians present their punk rock as a
matter of course with toughness and emotions..
“I cant stand lousy lovesongs on 4/4
beats no more, as long as half of the earth goes to hell” blames Josef Wetzl,
singer of CFG, ”with our debut album SOONER SAID THAN DONE we tested our
musical possibilities. You can listen to the results from our former work on
our new album ROOKIE out in jan 2010.”
One of the many special moments in
their short band history is for sure sept 2008, when they played a gig on the
townsquare in straubing as the npd (german nationalist party) moved in the
hometown of Chasing for Glory.
“Being interested and get people
thinking was and is our goal. With our first and until now first german song
ANTI-FA we definitely hit the bulsseye” as guitar player Manolo says.
“Every single snare hit should wake
the people up and bring them to their senses. We don’t want to be a match ball
of the ones that are buying themselves free from commitments with money and
power in face of their fellow men. It doesn’t matter if corrupt trusts,
national associations or simply the self - convenient couch potato in your
neighbourhood. In a musical way we aim at everybody.” drummer Markus explains.
During the pre-production of the new longplayer, a central theme was already
applied to the songs.
Chasing for Glory is more than a
well done project – they will be a positive part in the negative scence. |
