Amnesty and laws

What I find funny Is the word Amnesty. The Irony in that word when I think of people like Paris Hilton and Scooter Libby. You have one person who is supposed to set an example for American  pop culture. Another person who is supposed set an example for American leaders.

Both acquitted and forgiven with nothng more then a slap on the wrist.  Its  like we are so firm on the laws and standards and putting people away who pose a threat to our way of life. But How are we supposed to enforce any Laws. If the people that make them, and the people constantly in the media's eyes cant even abide by  them. ?

It makes you think what is the point of even having laws if the select fiew are allowed to bend and break the laws. I guess until  that question is answered the stars and leaders of the world , anyone who has enough money and celebrity status or poltical connections in this world can always expect some kind of reprieval and continue to be Vindicated for there  Reprehensible actions.
