a boost in the roost. Current mood: excited Category: Music
Up 'em and very much at 'em with eggs and cheese in tow! It's been another belting week for The Bad Robots. Starting last Saturday night with a cracking gig at The Barfly in Camden (a massive thanks to all of you that came along, we had an absolute blast) and culminating in yet further progression on T4's Mobile Act Unsigned! Hurrah!
Yep, this week we we're back filming with the lovely crew at Princess Productions for T4. Over the two days we performed with 19 other bands, filmed interviews, chatted with Alex Zane, sat around a lot, went slightly delirious, talked to boys from Newcastle and girls from Liverpool about Ben's beard, then sat around some more before finally parking our shapely rears in those sweaty seats in front of the judges to hear if we'd made it through. This time there was no lovely Lily Allen present, so we were once again at the mercy of Simon Gavin (Head of A&R at Universal), the lovely Jo Whiley from Radio 1 (awesome boots...yes, I said boots) and Mr Alex 'off of Blur likes a 24 course meal' James. Along with some sound advice from the judges, we got some really positive feedback for our performance at Scala the other week, which we're really chuffed about. To cut a long story short and not wanting to spoil anything about the show before you see it on TV.....we made it through to the final 7 bands!! There are some great bands on this show, and we're really proud to be part of it, especially to make it to the final 7 out of an initial 1700! We can't wait for the next round and another chance to hopefully impress the judges.
We just played a toga party for freshers week at LSBU on friday night, and let me tell you - it is bloody weird as shitty death to play to a room full of people wearing togas! Plus the fact we were old enough to be pervy older brothers to most of them, well, it was really good fun and we met some properly ace people down there that we hope to see again soon!
Onwards this week to the Bloomsbury Bowl - should be really, really, really amazing as its one of the coolest venues in London and possibly the only place you can legally watch us play whilst bowling a 300 game. Or if you're one of us, a barely scraping over 100 if we're lucky game!
Beardy, less beardy, quite clean and very clean cut love,
Beno, Bert, Jackal and Philthy Phil Philanthropist.
