So this is way late since this album has been out for about a year now, but folks honestly, if you like that smeared eyeliner, cig hangin' out, garage rock as much as I do, Physchedelic Sunrise is simply a must have!
Right from a get go the jangling guitars of the first track Sunrise (Turn On) demand your full attention. The songs dance and groove yourself before taking you to climax in the delightfully morbid Up And Down where Greg Prevost states that, "I've been up, I been down, all my friends are underground. Unfortunatly the next song Inside Looking is more dreadfull than anything else. But Spanish Sun and Outta Site bring the party back up to speed.
Stayed Too Long sounds as if it could of been a long lost track from the Stones Exile On Main Street, Greg even drops his eirily simialar Iggy Pop voice and clearly resembles the snotty Britt voice of a 70's Mick Jagger. They album's songs draw a clear influence of The Stones and Stooges, and proudly proclaim it. But this album isn't just a copy of their idols, there is something clearly original in this album, a swagger of a band that knows their stuff beyond any doubt.
Clearly put, this is the best album I've heard in the last year, and possibly alongside with the Dolls album of 04, and the Heart Attacks 06 album, the best thing I've listened to released in the last ten years. And I found it at FYE of all places!
