The Sneaker Company Warped Tour comes to town this Friday. Yippee!Now you can go listen to all your favorite non offensive, non confrontational, watered down pop punk and metal bands !That’s right kids! For only 30 bucks plus a convenience fee of six bucks plus a shipping fee of two bucks you can sit in the hot sun, buy overpriced merch, drinks and food and help a multimillion dollar sneaker company advertise itself to you and your peers.Sure you could go to local shows or house shows and see really good punk and metal bands for free or very close to free, but why do that ? You can’t give your money to major companies that way, MTV2 and Fuse won’t be there to film you in your cute little punk rock outfit with your Walmart hair dye. What would be the point?I hear ya.Go out there have fun be the original person you are and enjoy a day filled with shitty copy cat emo bands (it’s amazing that there are bands out there like Paramore who actually make emo wimpier) or christian death metal bands (mosh it up for the lord).
Spend your parent’s money on overpriced imitation studded leather belts and 8 dollar beers! Make sure you are buying the stuff that is deemed cool by all of the other original, one of a kind people that you are copying off of.What’s that? You hate Emo and retarded Christian metal.You are only going to check out some fresh new bands that you might not have heard of.Well here is some good news pal-If you’re like me when you think about original local music, you think “Kia”, that’s right! Kia the official car of original music is sponsoring the “Kevin Says” stage this year. If the Warped Tour comes to your town they might let your band play on it, as long as they think you will bring in a few locals who otherwise wouldn’t come. Sure you can’t “go back stage” or “get paid” but you can defintaly get the fuck out of there as soon as you are done playing.Kia “the official car of original music”.Be an original individual drive a Kia.
