The Lusty Lady....it's been a number of years since I have been here. This place was introduced to me by my friends from the band "Street Trash" They would occasionally do shows up there at places like "Burnt Ramen", Bottom of the Hill, various punk rock warehouses occupied by rockers, and other such fun places. During one road trip there I decided to tag along and film footage of the trip. We went up there with another band called "The Orphans" friends of ours who had booked some gigs up there. It was fun...we all drove up and the singer of the Orphans Jenny had family out there so we got to crash out for the night in the "basement area" of an old apartment building that her family had owned. That night we walked the streets looking for beer and food and ended up at a little local spot that served up some mean pizza and cheap beers. After getting completely full...they told me that they needed to take me to their SF tradition.....The Lusty Lady. They gave me a list of rules to follow while we walked over...1) don't touch anything with your bare hands2) don't drop anything on the floor (if you do you probably won't want to pick it up3) don't lean on the walls. We entered and the guys who were working the front desk area told us that they were going to be closing down soon due to lack of business....shutting it's doors after being there forever.....from what I understand it's like one of the last old school nudie places....i walked in..and felt very strange...it was kinda creepy....and damn it....I liked it! old men wandered slowly from booths...no one making eye contact....and there my friends were...like kids in a candy store...laughing...cheering..and having a good ol time...they had different booths...on one side they had video booths that played porn.......kinda rad...but when i went in and tried to play some punk rock porn that was in the selection...it ate my money and didn't play the movie...HAHAHA!...so i decided to join where my friends were....I step into this room....it's a small enclosed room...not big enough but for one person...you...really don't wanna touch the walls in there...it's painted black...but guys like to go in there and whack it to the dancing ladies on the other side of the glass....in fact..according to my friend he tried to...but couldn't finish!..hahahaha...and a slot for your quarters....i put my quarters in and BAM! this little door that is covering a pane of glass opened up...and there was a room with a girl or 2 in it....dancing...anyway...it's kinda cool......pretty crazy....nostalgic....like something out of a weird movie....maybe a john waters or david lynch movie...so i am in there...and there is this lady dancing....you don't tip because you are in a closed off room and the only line of vision outside is into the room where the chick was dancing...so your literally pumping quarters into this machine to keep the window shield thingy open...the high light of all this...is if you put your face close to the glass you can totally see the faces of the other people looking through the glass....so sure enough 3 of the other booths were full of the familiar faces of my friends....making faces...trying to make each other bust up laughing....I had a blast here...maybe it's not everyone's cup of tea.....but I am not a real serious "Titty Bar or Nudie Bar" type person....I just like to go and have fun..and laughs...It's probably better if you don't plan your whole trip around it...I mean it's great for an hour or so stop in...like a touristy type thing....on your to do list. this place is a place to go for shits and giggles! on a side note...my friends returned the following year and said the Lusty Lady is not closed and the guys there said they weren't planning on it.....
