Based in Sydney Australia BANDINTEXAS consists of four Ladies, three instruments, two mircophones, one megaphone and a lot of noise. Relatively new on the Sydney music scene, BANDINTEXAS have a diverse repertoire of songs and their own unique sound. In a single Texan serving you will be taken on a manic musical journey, from the heights of melodic pop rock to the depths of dirty indie punk.Bandintexas's high energy live performances make them a band not to be missed and one that you will surely not forget. Just like Jesus, bandintexas were born on Christmas day. Born from the pulse of Chantelle Le Platrier's feet and the nimble conniptions of Sophie Bollen's thread sliding fingers, bandintexas started as a vision. A vision of softness mixed with raw. Of raw mixed with chaos. A vision of the Beatles wearing vagina hats. Bandintexas was a woman.Enter Laura, a woman known for her art and passion. Although initially bass wasn't her thing, she created a rhythm that would come to signify who she was. By day she tattooed dreams onto peoples arms but by night she was from Texas.Kelly Jean was an outsider, she told stories, she wasn't a singer, she didn't really know that she could, but in the girls she found an honesty, a beauty and a rhythm so rare that she knew it was time to reconsider. Texas began as a pony, a Stickpony in fact, but after legal threats from a little old band from texas of the same name, bandintexas was officially in bloom. As Laura departed to follow her art, Australian drummer Skarlett Saramore picked up the bass, taught herself to play and kept us alive until we found our permanent fix. In the winter of Skarlett we played shows in the city and country, we filmed clips, ate chips and played more shows in that four months than we had in the year before. Bandintexas were alive and breathing, but it wasn't until we found Jackie Latimore that we were truly whole. Jackie is bass. its part of her, it moves her and now we are complete. |
